The design has been reworked slightly, but / the older version is shown here in the flesh below. /
An African inspired pattern of diagonal lines, lines and more lines.
This vector artwork is a discovery and realisation of two things; physical hunger and thirst, and spiritual hunger and thirst. I wanted to tackle the issue of two extremes through the themes of drought, multi-culturalism and lonliness. The brown sepia tones are over-powering to almost force the viewer to realise this for themselves. The visuals through its figurative body language and symbolism stretch far and wide to allow the audience to interact with the piece. He thirst’s… / He thirst’s… / Not for water. / But for our return. *(This artwork is only on sale because of the over-whelming response received – enjoy).
More from the second day of computer downtime.
I originally made this to reflect the destruction of 911, but there is so much everywhere lately, that it seems appropriate for many occasions. I usually try to have a positive feel to my art, but sometimes the other comes through. Perhaps a sense of hope can also be felt.

The illustration was done many many years ago, in 1994, as part of some greeting card designs that contained many black icons. I took this image into Illustrator and traced it, and was quite surprised about the unexpected effect – the fantastic round and smooth curves and such… The compartments/fascets remind me about life, and the how the different boxes indicate different things one can to do, different points of interest, different hobbies… Thank you for browsing!
Also available as a print…
