  • The remnants of an old phone lay on the floor in this asylum, strangely stamped with a hospital name other than the actual name of this site.

  • The Palais des Congrès in Montreal, Quebec, is a genuine feast for the eyes. It’s a convention center with a design relying mostly on its fabulous coloured windows. The effect is absolutely delightful, casting gorgeous colours both inside and outside the building, like a giant kaleidoscope. Here is a angled view of the windows, incorporating a row of brightly coloured cast-steel pillars. Focal length 55mm / ISO-100 / Aperture f/5,6 / Shutter 1/100 sec. • Kids attending a summer camp at the Mary Brogan Museum of Art and Science in Tallahassee got to work on the paved area outside the museum with some colored chalks. I wandered by after they had left for the day and thought this made a wonderful picture – kids have such a natural sense of color it seems. • This is one of a series I took at Millennium Park in Chicago in the Summer. This is the Jay Pritzker Pavilion, designed by Frank Gehry. I had a lot of problem with the sun reflecting off the building which is a stunning piece of modern architecture but a devil to photograph I discovered! Frank Gehry, winner of the National Medal of Art, applied his signature style to this revolutionary outdoor concert venue. The Pavilion stands 120-feet high, with a billowing headdress of brushed stainless steel ribbons that frame the stage opening and connect to an overhead trellis of crisscrossing steel pipes. The trellis supports the sound system, which spans the 4,000 fixed seats and the Great Lawn, which accommodates an additional 7,000 people. This state-of-the-art sound system, the first of its kind in the country, was designed to mimic the acoustics of an indoor concert hall by distributing enhanced sound equally over both the fixed seats and the lawn. Shot with Nikon D90 handheld 200mm 1/400s f/5.6 ISO 200. /
