  • A worked rubbing from a lino cut. Digitally coloured and manipulated. (2000). Unfortunately since the release of the Matrix movies the vertical visual text I used to use is no longer showing up much in my work.

  • This is picture is from an original artwork composed from graffiti elements found around various cities and re-done in composite form. The original is a 500×500 canvas print.

  • A compilation of photography and illustration for something new and fun. This photo was turned into an advertisement for a condom company.

  • © Claire McAdams / ALL RIGHTS RESERVED I have been fighting with many people that I love lately and I feel like I am just being tossed around by my emotions. I am at home and remembered I had this awesome dress and wanted to do some shots in it so I tried to capture a jump shot in which I looked like I was just flying aimlessly, because that’s kind of how I feel. I thought texture added something cool here but I kept a copy without it because I really like how it looks both with and without texture.

  • Completed in 2004, age 17 This is a slightly cropped version of the original, due to the limits of my camera. My original signature got cropped out so I had to insert a new one in photoshop; in the original it is not actually located there. Original size: (40” x 30”) The two subjects are posed in similar positions, each having a dark, circular central focus., Both images have lines above and surrounding the centres, which draw attention towards the centres. The vertical composition help strenghten the feeling of height given by the vertical lines. Both subjects are organic, however one, the eye, has straight lines and geometrical shapes, while the rose has curvy lines and organic shapes. In the eye, the centre is literally dark, while in the flower the darkness is created by shadows. • Lines in the sand received a highly commended award in the the black and white category of the 2007 ANZANG Nature and Landscape Photographer of the year competition (ANZANG: Australia, New Zealand, Antarctica, New Guinea bio-region). It also won a first place in a local competition run by Harvey Norman. It was taken in the immense dune field between Lake Wau Wauka and Iron Prince Reef in the Howe Wilderness Zone, Croajingolong National Park. It is just near Cape Howe on the Victorian, New South Wales border where the coast line takes a dramatic turn north resulting in the sand building up on this rock flanked headland. On this particular day I had arisen an hour before dawn and witnessed the white dunes absorb all the pre-dawn colours before a spectacular ocean sunrise had me chewing through my film in awe. I wandered around the huge dune field taking advantage of the morning light that emphasized the ripples in the sand. After some inclement weather this part of the dune field had dried out unevenly resulting in sand bands of differing moisture content being blown in alternate directions. The result was this remarkable, and logic defying pattern. This particular shot was literally the next frame in the camera after my 2006 ANZANG black and white runner up shot, Dunes near Wau Wauka Featured on the red bubble homepage 7/5/08. • views: 4957 / favs: 22 My origami calendar A sailboat folded out of a 6×10mm piece of paper rowing along the lifeline in my palm. Wow I didn’t realize my hand had all these lines :P. I didn’t turn this into a black and white this time because I managed to get a cool light on my hand (natural light) to make it more waterlike. The flow of life is parrallel to a journey off the land. It begins smooth, then the waves of adulthood brings high tides which we must overcome, However at the end of the ride, everything is smooth again. Ironically the lifeline in my palm depicts this flow; it begins smooth, then there is a big split and begin to ruffle, but towards the end it comes back together again. This concept was originally generated and uploaded in May 2008, but I bought a tripod later on and re-shot this on September 2, 2009 using the timer on my camera (an Olympus FE-340), and replaced the image alone. Not very different from the one uploaded before except this one is clearer. • The former railway line that once snaked its way fifteen kilometres from Adamstown to Belmont was originally constructed in the late 1880’s. It was used to transport coal from mines in the Lake Macquarie area to the Port of Newcastle. Evidence of some of the mines is still visible from the track. The Adamstown to Belmont Rail line helped contribute to the development of Newcastle and Lake Macquarie. As well as being used for coal haulage, it was used as a passenger service between Belmont and Newcastle with stations at Kahibah, Whitebridge and Redhead. The last scheduled steam train ran in 1967 before switching to diesel and the last passenger train ran in 1971. During the 1980’s coal mines along the corridor began to close down and the line ceased to be used in 1991 with the closure of Lambton B Colliery. The railway closed in 1991, and the two Councils completed the purchase of the corridor in 1994. Shortly after, the Fernleigh Tunnel (having survived two earthquakes in 1925 and 1989) was closed to public access following an assessment of its structural condition. It has since been reopened and this is where I took this photograph.
