Acrylic on canvas 1m x 1m / 2005 (original Sold) This painting is about women…being one myself…I found the inspiration to paint that feeling of hiding in plain sight. Where it can feel easier to sink into the background…keeping the inner self hidden…..from harm…from risks….from the world. / But ..really…wanting to bring that hidden woman out to the surface..not be afraid.. but just be.
Abstract landscape. The original acrylic painting (30” x 24” ) was sold to a private collector. Visit my own website Arts-Fine.co.uk for more Contemporary paintings
Acrylic on canvas 70×50 cm / 2005 (original available) I have a fascination for painting with lines…it starts with one…then another and more…and sometimes I have only a small idea of what it will be….others it’s more preconceived…but along the way it’s amazing to watch these lines form into something tangible…it reminds me of life and how things join and connect to make more and more each day a life wave / in and out / out and in it rolls / in to the shore it drags / out to sea turbulent days / made of Grey / calm night / full moon shining constant motion / constant feeling life wave / take me away
Layers of acrylic covered in grey and scratched to reveal underlying colors. Accented with linework and markings.
This stencil was created in early 2008 inspired by fashion photography and damp cold London. Recently cut stencil with one layer from an older stencil of a zebra in pink on her dress, with hand drawn cobbled stones. The canvas itself is 3 times in length this is just a mere snap shot of the original piece. This piece is 1 of 3, utilising the same same stencil and composition of works I’ve posted on Red Bubble at the moment. The other is ‘snow and umbrella’ and ‘rain birds’

180 X 180 cm Canvas. / one of my new series of ANGELS OF LIGHT
Completed in 2004, age 17 This is a slightly cropped version of the original, due to the limits of my camera. My original signature got cropped out so I had to insert a new one in photoshop; in the original it is not actually located there. Original size: (40” x 30”) The two subjects are posed in similar positions, each having a dark, circular central focus., Both images have lines above and surrounding the centres, which draw attention towards the centres. The vertical composition help strenghten the feeling of height given by the vertical lines. Both subjects are organic, however one, the eye, has straight lines and geometrical shapes, while the rose has curvy lines and organic shapes. In the eye, the centre is literally dark, while in the flower the darkness is created by shadows. I think this image is something of an optical illusion. to me, it appears to bulge out, even though it’s concave. you decide.

Acrylic on canvas, 16”x20” / Sold, $1200 My work was featured in the Fine Arts Group / (Thanks everyone!) This is the third study painting I have created in a series of ancient Japanese graphic art works. This was inspired from the “Journey along the Passing Waves of the Shallow Rapids”. / Each piece I have done has been intense and rewarding. The brush movements are like a dance between me and the canvas. They are immensely enjoyable and I am currently working on several more. / CarrieGlennStudios.Com / My Zazzle Gallery

Ref / with special permission from model and photographer pluschkind I bumped into this fantastic image while browsing the photography on deviant art and the photographer/model was happy to let me try my hand at drawing it. / As you can see though, I ended up painting it. oils on watercolour paper. I’ve never tried that before but i had no black watercolour paint so I thought, why not!? So all I used was black oils and turpentine to get the greys, like with watercolours. / The way the white cuts up the image reminded me of an image we’d looked at in my visual culture class, the artist had digitally erased lines through the person to create white tribal markings. this erasure gave me the idea for the title of this piece. This Portrait is available in my 2009 calendar!

“Tree Line” is about simplifying the landscape and focusing mainly on the procession of trees as they line themselves up along the top of a hill. / “9” is the first of a new series called “Pure Abstraction”...the title refers to the number of triangles that are apparent to the eye at first glance… all my Still Life paintings are made up of triangles and it appears that my subconscious is at work here as well, as I did not consciously plan the shapes or the number in advance…I always let paintings evolve as they will, using materials that come to hand…you can call it automatic painting, but there is no doubt there is real significance to what emerges in the end... Nine is a very significant number, and references to it occurs in mythology, the occult, the Bible, to name a few, and in mathematical science it possesses properties and powers which are found in no other number….it is the number of finality or judgement There are many layers to the painting, which evolved, as I said, almost from a subconscious need to express myself in this particular way…I think here the viewer becomes very significant in that it allows a diiferent dialogue each time the painting is seen…an abstract work engages the viewer in ways that are totally different from any other genre... Inks, Pastels, Watercolour, and Acrylic on Masonite.
