NORMALLY, WITHOUT ANY PULL ON THIS FISHING ROD IT STAYS PRETTY STIFF, BUT WHEN IT IS IN THE FISHING ROD HOLDER AND THERE IS TENSION ON THE LINE CAUSED BY THE TIDE MOVING EITHER OUT OR IN, THE ROD GETS PRETTY LIMP. I JUST COULDN’T RESIST CALLING THIS PHOTO, “REEL LIMP STIFFY”, JUST BECAUSE ALL THE ARTICLES IN THE PHOTO LEAD UP TO THAT. WITH THE FISHING “REEL” AND THE FISHING ROD, SAGGING OR “LIMP”, AND THE ROD BEING A “STIFFY” UNDER NORMAL SITUATIONS, THE TITLE JUST CAME TO BE.

Taken Tuesday morning at Langstone Harbour, the 6 cygnets that I snapped the day they were born earlier this year are all grown up now. I often see them with their parents and this morning was no exception. I am slightly concerned as one of the parents was limping very badly but did manage to get to the water and join the others. I phoned the local naturewatch crew to find out if anybody looked after the welfare of the wild birds, it would seem nobody does so I was advised to keep an eye on the swans and if the limp gets worse and the swan can’t feed I should contact the RSPCA as they will have the right kit for catching (hopefully ) the swan. I shall go and look for it tomorrow morning. Here 3 of the cygnets are busy grooming while a egret weaves in and out feeding. It was a dark and damp morning.

Whilst bored on my way home on the train, I took out my notepad and started drawing. I had the idea of a fish and then remembered an idea which I sketched out for my graphic design class. This design ended up with the tied up rope which my original concept had. The idea of the limp dead fish is from my friend Alcy. Originally, it was a tongue, then a cigar and ended up being a dead fish.
