Macro of the ice storm we had a few weeks ago.
This colorful species is a male Northern Cardinal named after the red robes worn by Roman Catholic cardinals. They are agressive birds that occupy territories year round. I’ve been trying to capture a shot of this bird for a while; this is my best so far.

This is a dead tree in Lake Eildon. well what’s left of the lake….
Mottled white on rump and outside of tail, legs and side of the deer. Unusual markings. I had never seen him before, but I stood about 20’ away in the open and shot the closeup head shots and then noticed the white as he walked away from me. I will be looking for him again.

Found this whilst clearing around the house and shelter-belt area. On our property in Mount Pleasant S.Australia. It fascinated me, almost looks like bit of driftwood but for the colour.

It was a beautiful trip down thru Hickory Tree today. I absolutely love having a 4WD to take back in the mountains. It definitely lets you enjoy a whole different perspective of the weather. I think I passed thru 20 trees that had been cut to allow us to pass on the roadway.
/ This is showing how ice can be beautiful,however,after 2 days without electricity I have other thoughts.
