I believe we’ve all eaten from this tree, at some time or another.. / / Mixture of digital art + several actual photos. / Work time: 4 or 5 hours (using the magnetic lasso tool in CS3 on / and around every tree branch, then cleaning them up with the eraser +blur) very intricate work. Same thing with the hearts.. /

Daydreaming / There is a little story behind this photo. My niece came home from school upset because they had picture day at school that day and she had a scratch on her face right between her eyes. So I suggested we go take our own photos and I could get rid of the scratch in post-editing.. which as you can see, with a little bit of cloning it disappeared! She was happy with the end result and I even photoshopped some butterfiles into one version for her. We had it made into a card and sent to her Nanna. Taken in natural light.

These ancient live oaks have stood their ground for a long time, surviving hurricanes, intense heat, bitter cold, and every test that time can dish out. When I look at them, I’m filled with a sense of respect for them and encouraged to stand firm through my own trials.

Taken on Scenic Drive. Carmel, California. November, 2007. There’s an interesting story behind this photograph, and #244, “Scenic & 8th. I was in a local camera store in Carmel, the manager of the store was telling me my camera was a toy because it wasn’t a high priced SLR, like he seels in the store. Obviously this annoyed me because i knew what my camera was capable of doing. So I left the store, walked down toward the beach, saw these Cypress trees, and took these shots in about five minutes. / I then walked back up to the camera store, and showed them to the manager, and the staff. They were impressed with the quality of the images. / I love my camera! I’m using the Panasonic Lumix FZ-50 That is what I used to take almost all the photographs in my portfolio. I’m satisfied with the performance of that camera. The images speak for themselves.

I just thought this was a cool shot. Looks like a deep dark hole.

I had to go rescue a friend with 2 flat tires and she was at a nice house in the country. I had my camera with me so I got a couple of shots of these trees. They looked so pretty and healthy. Most of the pine trees here in town look like they are sick.

We watched 2 darling Leopard cubs for 2 days. They were very independent, yet wanted their Mom in site at all times. Out of all the animals, insects & reptiles I adored photographing these twin cubs. I truly hope you enjoy this photo as much as I enjoyed taking it. / It was taken in Botswania, Africa – November 2006. / All comments and suggestions are truly welcome. / Take care, Bonnie
