The glowing golden centre and the radiating violet-blue petals belong to a very fine specimen of Nymphaea violacea (Water Lily), a very common Australian native water plant. The photograph was made as I was sitting on a little jetty over a large pond on the property of a Port Macquarie Panthers Camera Club friend at Kundabung, between Kempsey and Port Macquarie, NSW, Australia, on a lovely autumn day. this dwarfed sized lily only grows about 6-7 inches tall, it is native to the great smoky mountains, i had to lay on the ground shooting this macro in order to show the inside of it, shot this macro using a nikon diopter lens attached to a canon 75-300mm lens
This is another of the flowers from my show and poems for her. I chose to be my own man and think with my own brain. / I find it hard when we fall in line and let others do our thinking. / I don’t need to be in a gang with people full of hate. / And I refuse to be told what to do by someone who is crazy. / My life is but a short one and I plan to get the most from it every single day. / And finding reasons to hate someone is not the way for me. / What’s hate got to do with the human race when love is so much better. / I would rather give a hug to someone who’s different, / than to throw a rock at their head because I am full of hate. / When will we learn that hates has always been the devil and we need to try to find away to send him back to hell.

One more of Lotus! I took this one from a house of people at my district a week ago. I saw weed hold around a stem. It reminded me to think of life. Every thing in the world have to survive. After a request to know the name of these large Lily Pads, I did some research and I believe they are called Victoria Regia Lily pads originated from the rain forests in the Amazon. These photos I took were at Longwood Gardens, Pennsylvania, USA
