30”x 40” acrylic on Number 80 Bainbridge Board cold-pressed. I used gesso to cover the beginnings of something I had started a long time ago. I have been working on this off and on for the past couple of weeks…...... between giving time to two grandsons, ten cats, and a dog. First large painting, and first flowers I have done in a while. My inspiration has been all the wonderful florals I have seen on RedBubble! There are so many beautiful paintings and drawings on this site….....all are an inspiration for me to paint and draw again.

Also, it was good to experiment using the acrylic in a different way – and I love the spiritual symbolism of the lotus flower.

9.5×12.5 pastel enhanced watercolor on heavy watercolor paper (Original sheet was 19.5×21.5, so I quartered it). Available. Talk about fresh? I just finished this one and figured that you are probably sick to death of the puppies (seeing as you can’t really buy them or anything), so I promise – no more puppies!! Originally I was going to do this in watercolor but then realized that it would probably work better as a pastel.. so.. I did both! Have three more to do on the same size paper but they aren’t even laid out yet!! An Easter lily is any one of a number of flowers, generally grown and sold as a pot plant or as a cut flower for the Easter festival. The plants include / Lilium longiflorum, a scented lily, which is most commonly sold by the name Easter lily in North America and other parts of the world. This is the most commercially important of the plants called by this name. Zantedeschia aethiopica, an Arum lily, which became a symbol of the Irish republicanism after the Easter Rising of 1916. This flower is also called the Calla lily in North America. Other plants may sometimes be called by this name. They include / Madonna lily, or Lilium candidum, though it is usually June flowering / Daffodils / Zephyranthes atamasco (information from Wikipedia) Completed 2008

The Peach Daylily is from my garden and is now part of my photo collection...I took it one rainy day this past summer…I am mad about Daylilies and have many varieties which I show on a website I set up specifically to showcase my garden….see painted Daylilies from my RB pages below… The Daylily is a plant of the genus Hemerocallis, in the lily family, consisting of about 15 species of perennial herbaceous plants distributed from central Europe to eastern Asia. They range in colour from yellow to red and are each short-lived (hence “day” lily). Daylilies have fleshy roots and narrow, sword-shaped leaves that are grouped at the base of the plant.
