Taken today / 30th June 2008 Panasonic lumix dcm fz18 If I had a flower for everytime I thought of you / I would walk through a garden forever This image is one of the first I have taken and I love this so much. I m so proud of how this turned out, it was a bunch of lilies my mother had and I took one from her vase outside and posed it in front of the sun hoping to enhance/light the flower, when I checked them out at home and found this one I was so please with the result. The exquisite beauty of this water lily takes my breath away. In some ways, it seems too perfect to be real. I arrived to shoot just after an afternoon rain storm had washed everything clean. I love each water drop and the way the light bounces off of them. The tips of the flower look like they’ve been dipped in liquid plastic, and the purple is such a delightful contrast to the bright yellow. Featured in Dimensions August 20, 2009. Best on Full Size Having some fun with the macro/micro lens in my garden (Montgomery County, Maryland) the other day, August 3, 2009, I found this darling little critter (thought she was a grasshopper but have been told by wiser heads than mine that she’s a Katy-Did) enjoying brunch. Loved the way she munched away on the flower thingie like a cob of hot buttered corn!!!! Handheld image taken with the Nikon D300 and the 60mm Nikon macro/micro lens. Shutter 1/640, aperture f/13, exp -.33, iso 200. Minor cropping and levels work in Photoshop.
