  • The Ripple
    by earthairfire

    US$5.32–US$121.60

Dominating the picture, the large lilly is accompanied by his little friend. In the background, the geodesic lines of the botanical dome are disrupted by a solitary ripple, throwing them into chaos. If you would like to purchase any of my art in a larger format, please contact me. Other works by Earthairfire:

  • Bottomless Lake
    by Heather Rivet IPA

    US$3.99–US$91.20

Legend has it that a Canadian Pacific Railway Train..derailed at the other end of this lake and they have never found it…it is also known as dead mans lake, dead mans pond…etc..although I don’t believe that it has a true name on any map of the area..just local folklore.. This is an HDR.. / another artist on another site has written a short story to go with this picture and their interpretation of the legend: Skiethos has written another fine story for my Picture… Here is a story only a few have heard: / A train rumbled in the darkness of the night as it raced eastward carrying its cargo of passengers and materials. In the engine the conductor surveyed the landscape ahead as it was lit by the train’s lights. A moderate fog had settled over the region. The conductor knew this was a place in British Columbia not charted by maps or graphs, so being a cautious man he keeps vigil over the tracks. In the cars behinds the engine passengers are relaxing, doing business or have fallen sound asleep. Looking at the tracks ahead the conductor sees water under the tracks and sees that it is part of a large lake. He keeps the train’s speed steady and intensifies his watchful gaze. Up ahead he notices something odd, the tracks are getting lower and lower in the water. Still he can see they’re still for the most part above the surface so he asks the train’s speed to be slowed a bit. In some nearby marshes two people wade through the mud and thick grass and hear the train coming nearer to them and they hurry to find the tracks. As they come near they hear a tremendous splash and try their best to make it to the lake. When they reach the muddy lake shore they see that train has disappeared and in a state of shock they scramble to the nearest town to tell them what has happened. They race back to the lake to help in the search for the train only to find nothing. the search continues for three more weeks before the effort is called off. The story is still told today although many ignore it, a few have tried to find it themselves then return home empty-handed. The legend of what happened stil remains and attracts a few curious ones, but can only wonder about it. This is the Legend of Bottomless Lake. / / All artwork is © Heather Rivet, All Rights Reserved.
