It took me 60 minutes in the cold to get 3 nice photos of lightning. / This was in RSA, Gauteng, Midrand near the Grand Central airport.

i really didnt think i was going to get a shot of lightning, my camera doesnt have an over exposure setting, so this one is pure luck. was taken outside my room in a camp in Leonora.

Lightning flashes across a stormy sky. Storms drift in from the east and smother the blue western skies.

Stormy weather moves over the St Augustine Florida area. I shot this from the upper deck of my dock in the rain facing east toward the ocean. Nikon D300 with nikkor 18-70 mm and a quick finger.:)

This shot was taken at Sanford, Florida looking across lake Monroe around 20:30. This is a great place to get lightning shots because it’s right across the lake from all kinds of towers that seem to attract alot of bolts. If you look close you can see the lightning hiting two towers. The shot / One manual bulb exposure at F9 and about 30 secs shot with tripod using the Nikon D200 18-200mm lens. Process / Took the one photo shot in raw format and made 3 (0EV, +2EV, -2EV) / After that ran it through Photomatix. A shot I took from the lookout on Mount Coot-Tha, west of the Brisbane CBD. Overlooking the Brisbane CBD in the distance, this strike went perfectly across the frame, and I couldn’t be happier. The storms raged for about 3 hours that night, and I went to the lookout on a whim, after spending 3 hours shooting video in Ipswich of the strikes. Very glad I keep my camera with me at all times.

Driving home from a Photo shot in Burra South Australia, we came across a storm just outside of a little town called Eudunda and found from the road this old ruin in the Path of the storm and sat there and waited to get the perfect shot across the field! The Lightning show was amazing, this Lightning strike lite up the Canola Field you see in the foreground beyond the barbed wired fence and I was lucky enough to be in the right spot at the right time!
