Peaceful calm touches the zen of the garden
My Christmas card design for this year. I wanted something simple and beautiful that borders on traditional as far as imagery but takes it into a slightly new realm. I didn’t use traditional colors really and I added a touch of magic. I think the result turned out well. It’s the best holiday card design I’ve come up with thus far.
I chose to take the bottom of the 10,000 lb Blockbuster Bomb that was used in the earlier wars. And was the beginning design for the atom bomb. The light bulb represents Idea :) Hope you like and thank you for taking time to look Chris
Taken at Anderson Ranch Reservoir in Idaho. One of my favorite places to go on a photo shoot.
I’m feeling the luuurve across the Bubble today….and this song is never off my ipod. If we all danced together, we’d ROCK THE WORLD…come dance with me… Its there in the eyes of the children / In the faces smiling in the windows / You can come on out, come on open the doors / Brush away the tears of freedom / Now were here, theres no turning back / We have each other / We have one voice / Hand in hand we will lay the tracks / Because the train is coming to carry you home / Come dance with me / Come on and dance into the light / Everybody dance into the light / There’ll be no more hiding in shadows of fear / There’ll be no more chains to hold you / The future is yours – you hold the key / And there are no walls with freedom / Now were here, we wont go back / We are one world / We have one voice / Side by side we are not afraid / Because the train is coming to carry you home / Come dance with me / Come on and dance into the light / Everybody dance into the light / Do you see the sun – its a brand new day / Oh, the worlds in your hands, now use it / Whats past is past, dont turn around / Brush away the cobwebs of freedom / Now were here, theres no turning back / You have each other / You have one voice / Hand in hand you can lay the tracks / Because the train is coming to carry you home / Come dance with me / Come on and dance into the light / Everybody dance into the light / ‘Dance into the Light’ – Phil Collins / Hear it here / and….DANCE!!!!

There is an ancient Chinese saying that goes like this: If there is light in the soul, / There will be beauty in the person. / If there is beauty in the person, / There will be harmony in the house. / If there is harmony in the house, / There will be order in the nation. / If there is order in the nation, / There will be peace in the world. / —Chinese Proverb You can view and buy my other “Light In The Soul” creations from my Zazzle Gallery:

Though this is far from a true B&W image, I thought the title was well suited. This original capture was in color, shot of Mount Shasta in Northern CA in September, 2007…...inverted and the data converted to B&W…..some final editing was done for the finished effect. Captured looking East just outside my living room window, on 09/03/09 at 6:48AM… that’s Mount Lassen (aka: Lassen Peak) midscreen to the right – Please view in large format…. Lassen Peak (also known as Mount Lassen) is the southernmost active volcano in the Cascade Range. It is part of the Cascade Volcanic Arc which is an arc that stretches from northern California to southwestern British Columbia. Located in the Shasta Cascade region of Northern California, Lassen rises 2,000 feet (610 m) above the surrounding terrain and has a volume of half a cubic mile, making it one of the largest lava domes on Earth.[5] It was created on the destroyed northeastern flank of now gone Mount Tehama, a stratovolcano that was at least 1,000 feet (300 m) higher than Lassen. Lassen Peak has the distinction of being the only volcano in the Cascades other than Mount St. Helens to erupt during the 20th century. On May 22, 1915, an explosive eruption at Lassen Peak devastated nearby areas and rained volcanic ash as far away as 200 miles (320 km) to the east.[5] This explosion was the most powerful in a 1914–17 series of eruptions that were the last to occur in the Cascades before the 1980 eruption of Mount St. Helens in Washington. Lassen Volcanic National Park was created in Shasta County, California to preserve the devastated area and nearby volcanic geothermal features. Unlike most lava domes, Lassen is topped by craters. A series of these craters exist around Lassen’s summit, although two are now covered by solidified lava and sulfur deposits. Lassen is the largest of a group of more than 30 volcanoes that have erupted over the past 300,000 years in the Lassen Volcanic Center. / Compliments of Wikipedia /

Featured with the group Deer Me Nov 2009 Featured with the group Healing Through Art Dec 2009 Something about this image drew me in as I pondered on it, recalling the moments when the photo was taken. It was cold that day as I lay on my chest aiming my camera up in wonder at the beauty before me. The snow shower tinkled about me as I focused my camera thru the viewfinder fogging over in my misty breath. Even then I felt the hint of something ‘over and above’ me, as a presence gathering me up into a desire for peace and serenity. I felt me relaxing into the cold as I gave myself over to that desire for tranquility, and then I felt it grow. My hand was shaking as I fired off the frame and I wondered at the cause. Was the chill getting to me or was I in the throes of something else? I realized that though I lay in a bed of snow, I was far from cold, or perhaps it comes closer to say that I was not the least bit concerned. I had walked a long way thru ice and snow; my camp was even farther still from help. Strange warmth welled up from deep within my chest melting the possibility of threat, and I simply knew that all was well in my little world. And so as I studied the image before me, I noticed how the background light conspired to seemingly demarcate what had occurred that day on such subtle feeling levels of experience. The words of the Misty Edwards song “Light of Your Face” started playing in my mind, “…Let the light of your face shine down on my heart and let me feel it….For I live only to see your face so shine on me…” As I remembered, the feeling welled up in me, as if to say, “I am here always, not just a memory of what was, but as a reality to be chosen, right here, right now.” / ____ / ©Miles A Moody LivingEarth-Hearthealing.com.
