I finally got to paint this from my digital manipulation, Don’t Give Up Searching . I’m so pleased with the result. I used a few different textures and oil paint and made the eye brown rather then blue so that the image was unified in pallet to suit a college project so that I could paint this particular piece without abandoning duty. / UPDATE- / In 2008 this painting was STOLEN. / It was being displayed in Bentley Pines Restaurant with a group of other art from fellow students. toward the end of the year the restaurant went though refurbishments and stored the works in a disabled toilets :/ we were asked to collect the work but this painting had already gone before it could be collected. Ive contacted all the people in charge and been forwarded around like a telstra customer on hold and still haven’t gotten it back. :(

Oils on canvas 30×30cm / In this one I think I painted quite closely to the manipulation. I did however turn some of the whips of fire in the shadows into locks of curly red hair. Our society’s addiction to oil and oil based products is threatening the human race. Corporate greed is compromising human rights and the environment through pollution and global warming. Things must change before it’s too late. This t-shirt is designed to quickly communicate the relationship between oil consumption and human suffering. The image of a hand gun and the use of the colour red represents blood and human suffering (so I would recommend a white t-shirt, but it still works on other colours). The fuel pump nozzle and use of black represents oil and petrol consumption. The link between the two items is the ‘trigger’, each of which is designed to be levered by the human finger.

Captured in rural Boulder County, Colorado….let me just say this was honest to God unbelievable to photograph. I had to handhold these shots because of my bum knee and well, the lightning was going crazy right above me. But I managed to get some dang nice shots off. This being one of them. I am really happy with this one, I debated about a square crop, but in the end I figured why the heck not, nothing ventured, nothing gained, right folks?
