Australian actor best known for his roles on E-Street, Charmed and Good Guys, Bad Guys… He also played a role in Hollywood movie Mulholland Drive. This portrait shoot was promoting Othello which is currently playing at the Melbourne Arts Centre. What was really cool though was that during the shoot Marcus began reciting parts of the play which really gave the shoot a different spin. Marcus is an absolutely fantastic guy and was definately a pleasure to shoot. This portrait especially is my favourite due to the emphasis put on his face from the silhouetted arm. It was quite an involved lighting set up that took me around an hour to get right… In the end though I was totally satisfied with the result!

I never do spacey things.. but I so enjoyed this piece. Then i talked with Bil and he mentioned me and Shoaib in the same sentence so I knew it was time to give my Brotha his due. / . / I am so pleased you are in my life Shoaib, as you remind me sometimes how GOOD LIFE KEEPS GETTING. you are an expanded part of our evolution. So many younger people I meet here are eons past where I was at their age. I like this fact, I know that life keeps getting better and better and more in tuned. by parmiDifferent? My depiction of the mind of someone in personal struggle with society. The light and the dark, happy and sad, known and unknown. All of this moving with random thought processes, pop culture, gossip, media influence, culture clashes and a lot of the time, white noise to fill whatever silence is left. This is modern society. Confusing, confronting, intimidating and at times down right scary. Which way do we go? Title of this piece I have borrowed from one of my favourite songs: “..can I please have some silence. How about some space..“ / Mindcircus – Way Out West. City Of Melbourne Musuem. Not the one in Carlton, housing dinosaur bones and relics though. This is the nondescript one on Spring Street, in the old Treasury Building. It showcases the history of Melbourne as a city, from colonisation to today. This was taken in the vaults, underground. Which have been turned into an interactive journey through the gold rush days. This particular room had only a tv and light in it, both of modern look. The contrast grabbed my attention straight away. It had a spooky yet familiar effect on me. I didn’t know what to make of it, but I kept looking at it, unsure what to think or feel. Slight crop of original photo. Desaturated all and selectively coloured tv screen. Increased contrasted and brightness to achieve higher levels of mood.
