In a darkened room (series) VI / Copyright Otilee 2008 Art direction / Styling / Photography / retouching: Otilee / MUA & Henna: Lily / Model: Christiane “Tell me when the kiss of love, Becomes a lie / That bears the scar of sin too deep to hide behind / This fear of running unto you, Please let there be light / In a darkened room All the precious times have been put to rest again / And the smile of the dawn, brings tainted lust singing my requiem / Can I face the day when im tortured In my trust / And watch it crystalize, while my salvation crumples to dust” (Skid Row Lyrics – In a Darkened room)
The other day I did a shoot with Tiffany and she shouted “We have to do a shoot in the pond!” I thought she meant on/around the pond, but she definitely meant IN the pond. I thought that would be awesome but it was so cold that I didn’t really give it a second thought. We got lucky with the weather because it was in the 70s, but the water was still pretty cold and Tiffany had to take a hot shower and I fed her hot chocolate and then hot tea as she snuggled in a blanket while we looked through the photos. Despite freezing her it was really fun. I shot this from the roof of my house and it was one of the first shots I got. I also used a polarizer filter to altar the reflections on the water.

The blackness of the water around her is natural, as the water was dark and there wasn’t anything in it. This was lit with natural light

Models: Daniel Groth + Grace May / Fashion: Sushi and Cigarettes (Kris Harman) / Stylist: Cecelia Hides / MUA: Grace Haddan Lighting details: large softbox camera left, bare bulb strobe directed at wall camera right. The internet ruins my colours and makes the pictures look so much brighter. :( how do I fix this?
