Sometimes the sun has not been given enough time to go down in style. It is chased out of the sky, its light butchered by dark featureless and easy to forget clouds. Not this evening though. In such a wonderful setting and with all the time in the world, at its own pace, it gently covered the whole universe, material and the other one, with its pink warm residue leaving you with an overwhelming feeling of relief and joy. It is often hard to imagine a place like this for us city slickers, with the clock meaningless, space limitless, and your soul miles away from the tension and stress, the main culprits behind the structural damage of our emotional self. Later that night I was carried through sleep on a cushion of wonderful dreams until the sun made its usual roundtrip. Does this surprise you?
Lighthouses are the seamens friend. Their job is to mark dangerous coastlines and hazardous reefs. Without it, many people could have died. Due to new technology the lighthouses are slowly disappearing. luckily there is still someone left to pride the cliffs that it once guarded.

Here’s a look at Eldred Rock Lighthouse from a different angle. What I was trying to schieve, here, was to show just how massive the mountains in Alaska are, and how they do rise up from the sea..
We’re not ready to give up on warm summer weather just yet. I captured this image of the purse seiner Legend heading out for a day of cruising on Puget Sound last weekend. /

This image won the I’m What You Make Me challenge on June 2, 2009. This image was featured in the Northern California Style group on June 3, 2009. This lighthouse memorial is located on the bluffs overlooking the bay in the city of Trinidad which was founded in 1850 and is the oldest town on the northern California coast. The lighthouse memorial is a replica of the nearby Trinidad Head Lighthouse. In 1949 the Trinidad Civic Club was the recipient of the California Grand Sweepstakes prize, Build a Better Community Contest, which was awarded by the National Federation of Women’s Clubs and the Kroeger Company. It is a memorial to those lost and buried at sea. Digital image post processed in Photoshop to create a painterly effect and then a triptych effect also created in Photoshop. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Please do not copy or download this image.
