This is the first full page illustration to the upcoming book ‘The Lighter Side of Dark: Enter the Yard’, coming soon! I know it has taken quite some time to finish these piece, since I am so picky and keep putting it away and bringing it back out later on, but I am very,very proud with how it turned out! :) I hope you all enjoy it so much that you are just chewing your nails, waiting for the book so you can buy it :D

Blossom’s_Photo_Gallery Ruins of a Huon Pine Barge ============================================== / Featured in the Top 10 of Rusty_Crusty_and_Falling_to_Bits / Challenge Nautical_relics ============================================== / The discovery of rich deposits of copper at Mt Lyell led to the establishment of the Mt Lyell Mining Company in 1892. / Teepookana was situated at the highest navigable point of the river, where the township acted as a port facility for the Mt Lyell Mining and Railway Company, and home to about 200 people, mostly railway workers. / Two steamers, the “Pioneer” and “Eagle”, and over a dozen barges, or “lighters”, plied the King River, carrying coal, passengers, goods and mail for shipment by rail to the copper mines, and copper for shipment from the Strahan port facilities. / Today, the ruins of two Huon pine “lighters” can be seen at the Fishermens Wharf, Strahan. Taken inside Ely Catherdral, Cambridgshire Uk. 27.10.2009 Well the inside was wonderful so much to look at and photograph, if you knew what you were doing and had a tripod, both of which I did not have. But love trying new things so twiddled the buttons on my camera set my ISO to auto range up to 3200 and went to have some fun. I took a lot of images most blurred and so bad but I learnt a lot and slowly getting to grips with low light photography. I have processed this one in Nixon Efex pro 3 just a little to being out the stonework a slight level changeand a tweak in something else i cannot recall must make notes as I work but little else done to it Nikon D90 and Nikor 18 – 105vr lens Focal length 18mm / F/. 4.5 / Exposure 1/15th sec and _1 step / ISO 3200 Hand Held, Aperture Priority, ISO to Auto
