After shooting the early light of the morning down at Cape Schanck I thought I’d take a quick shot of the sun light reflecting off the large boulders in this little cove. I love the warm colours and shapes of wet boulders in the sun. If you ever go down to this place when the tied is high and the weather a little on the wild side, the massive waves that come crashing in to this little space throw these boulders around making an awesome rumbling sound. A must see if you live close enough to the Mornington Peninsula.

WILD & FREE / / South Georgia is one amazing island that you all must try to get to, if you don’t mind four days in rough seas on a boat that is!!! But it is truly worth it…. This image was taken at a place called “Salisbury Plain”, where there are approximately 250 000 penguins! The sound as you come over the hill is tremendous, not to mention the smell!! Well this is the shot that made it into the 2008 channel ten weather calendar, so I’m pretty proud of that.Getting this into the calendar was my first… ‘public’ recognition of my work so this is a pretty special shot to me. it is lightning over Adelaide looking down from Mount Osmond. It was taken in December 2006 and featured on the following nights news broadcast.

We had too much wind today to capture these wildflowers outdoors. Thus, almost a wild setting except for: An antique (a.k.a. tarnished) silver vase / Nikon D200 / Nikkor 105mm macro lens / 105mm / f/22 / 1.3 sec / -0.3ev / ISO 100 / manual exposure and focusing / studio lights / Collapsible gold reflector disc, mostly to shield the vase from too much light / Manfrotto tripod / Converted from RAW to jpeg using Capture NX2.2.1 The true macro lacks even more emotion, but was a joy for me to shoot. (Not posted). /
