Up above Wildcat Canyon in Starved Rock State Park. Every nook and cranny was teeming with life here on a cool spring day.

You won’t get straight growing trees, flat laying logs, or canyon walls that don’t lean over. The soil is sandy here and many trees grow on a 30 to 45 degree angle until a drenching rain or hard wind knocks them over. The most ominous thing here is the canyon walls. They lean and hover over your head. There are broken walls and large rocks and boulders all over the park where rocks have broken off away from a canyon wall. If that happens while you are standing next to it; you’re done. You’re dead. / The amazing area adjacent to Ottawa Canyon.

This visit to the Crawley Edge Boatshed was a total opposite to my last visit a few days earlier, When the waterline was above the jetty leading to the boatshed due to a storm surge which resulted in a unusually high tide, Which is the opposite to the unusually low tides we have had over the last few days. I decided to walk into the river to get a unusual perspective of the boatshed since I thought the water wasn’t to deep, But in the end, I found myself knee deep in the water shooting the boatshed, And once again, Going home soaking wet. LOL / Lucky for me it was late at night, and there wasn’t anyone around. The boatshed was built in the 1930’s and was restored by it’s current owner in the early 2000’s after being in a dilapidated and run down state for many years. EOS 500D.

At 1425m, Mount Anne is the highest peak in South West Tasmania. In the foreground are huge cushion plants, which occur above the treeline on many Tasmanian mountains. Despite the name the surface of the plant is quite hard.

Every year around the winter solstice, the NSW North Coast congregates in Lismore for the Lantern Parade. Even though it rained heavily all day, it stopped for the parade and the aftershow so families and friends could enjoy the festivities. The same could not be said for the after party which saw people dancing in the rain to fantastic live music! / One of my fave events on the North Coast. Nikon D700 with 24-70mm Now showing in a calendar here…
