It was a freezing crisp day, -27 in Park Voyageur. This is the little footbridge that leads to the frozen lake. There was not a soul out there in this cold, not even the birds or deer or squirrels, just River and me, the “die-hards”. :)
The middle-aged buck came right out in front the camera as if to say “Hey, remember me?!” :) Nobody could forget him (not River or me) because he met with us everyday from last spring to fall! And we both love him! :) Everyday we managed to get to the woods to meet with him, our day seemed “right” and “whole” because of it. He made us happy and encountering, watching and playing with him IS, true to the meaning of the word, our (my dog River’s and mine) passion! For the remembrance of this magnificent buck, I shall donate this piece of work to charity for his, and the well being of all the living in the forest! Donation to charity / 50% of the proceeds of the sale of this image will be donated to Nature Canada
All the other ducks (there must be more than 100 of them) were watching this one beautiful male duck perform what I’d like to call “daytime ballet”, in the freezing winter (River wore her thick coat and she was trembling standing in the deep snow) and none of them seemed to be the least bit disturbed by the weather. / Ted made a comment the other day on another duck photo (taken the same day) that it didn’t seem to be very cold to him – perhaps he, too, like the ducks, was deceived by the brilliant light and the hint of shiny sky but I kid you not, it was -37˚c! :)
My new friend posed and wanted me to get his face “right”, although I am still not sure that I did. I tried though. Donation to charity / 50% of the proceeds of the sale of this image will be donated to Algonquin Park
River mistakenly jumped into a “deep end” of a “snow valley” when we were in the mountain last week and it took her more than half an hour to climb back up!
Better view in a bright monitor.
My son Rio was tickled pink when a butterfly landed on his arm. Fortunately, I was there with the camera to capture the wonder on his face.
The lotus flower, the species of flower said to have been used during the Flower Sermon. One interpretation of the Flower Sermon, is that Buddha was trying to make the point that all things come and go, that all things are transient, like a flower. Joie de vivre (from the French joie, “joy”; de, “of”; vivre, “to live, living”; “the joy of living”) is a term sometimes imported into English to express a cheerful enjoyment of life; an exultation of spirit.

Sunrise Rainfall Ke’anae Peninsula Maui Hawai’i Copyright © Sharon Mau 2007 – 2010 / Ourjrny / The Heart Within the Art / All Rights Reserved The beautiful remote village of Ke’anae is on the tip of the peninsula below. This is true Hawai’i where our Ohana and friends, Kanaka Maoli, the familes who live here, are descendents of many generations of farmers and practice ancient and cultural practices in sustainable land, fresh water, crops and taro farming and conservation. We have many Ohana and friends who live in this area. If you visit Ke’anae, please drive slowly as there are many children, do not enter private drives, and please be respectful for, the moment you drive off the road to Hana and turn down onto the Keana’e Peninsula, remember you are on private land. “Your touch was gentle. / I hardly noticed you enter within the circle of my life. / But yet, / you took hold of my heart, and led me along an ancient path. / Back to the places of the Ancestors and the Old Gods. You spun an unseen magic that found its way into my life. / As I lay with that circle of stones, ancient and worn, and looked up into the starry sky, / I could never have imagined that I would see the world through your eyes or touch your magical realm, a vision of the sparkling walls of your celestial home, held within your divine radiance, my Goddess of the Fates. And yet, / was I not always your child waiting to be born? / Your voice murmuring in the night. / The sigh of the wind on the moor, / and within the places of the dreaming, / carried by the sound of the Shaman’s drum. The many things you have shown me, in waking and in sleep, snatches of an ancient melody, / steps of a timeless dance. The weaver of the web, of which I am but one small strand…. / your essence flows within my veins, / your song hidden within my dreams, / waiting to be revealed.” ~ poetry by Vanora Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi / This is a composite of two of my images, one taken of the sky at sunset on Po’olenalena Beach over Kaho’olawe Island and the second of rainfall on Ke’anae Peninsula at sunrise.

in the space of dimension… has it a stream of light to others dimensions… traveling soul… to burst one’s bonds…. feeling of security… immortality of the soul…. ... I had an idea for a picture in mind for years which I wanted to draw but thought I couldn’t: a tunnel filled with light, with an even brighter, clearer, unreal light at the end of the tunnel. I tried some fractal work and suddenly had this picture right in front of me when I thought: stop, that is very close to what’s on my mind, even though there are two tunnels. I just looked at it for a very long time, felt an incredible ease of mind, warmth and protection. It had an immediate impact. Self-healing is probably a bit overstated, but it means a lot to me to have been able to manifest the picture in the end. I think it’s one of my most authentical picture, it’s my soul image. And probably it appeals to others as well. who knows….... / / results with done with ChaosPro

I play most of the time with my eyes closed. / It’s my ears and fingertips that determine my joy of playing you. I’ve had it the other way around, you know. But my mind is different. Image is something that I control. My memory is visual in nature. When I renounce this gift, when I renounce this strength, I feel free to explore the world of most hidden sensations. True pleasure is not all about overloading your senses. True pleasure lies in exploration. The feeling of the unknown. The depth of a cave, the edge of a mind. Abstract theories will do nothing to improve understanding of unknown phenomena. Theory won’t do much either. Science is flawed and it can only explain itself within it’s own limits. Staminal virtues. Passionate common sense. Experiential readiness. Dark estate. Ideal utilitarism. Sensate body. / Toy of soul decay. Arousal of my senses. / Is all that is needed. Go beyond the scope of what our sensate experiences have conveyed. Find that which is hidden. Find that which is unfelt. It’s like women. She may be beautiful. / But sometimes you need to close your eyes and still be there…
ANGEL TOUCH Summoned by mortal spoken prayers / To bless those he guards with love / A winged poetic messenger / Sent from Heaven’s clouds above. Whispering words of loving peace / Cleansing the bad you may be told / Sent to watch your every step / Flying above you with wings unfold. So when you feel a light warm breeze / Softly gusting past upon your face / Know that it was the tender touch / Of an angel passing by your place. ☆ ☆ ☆ Tomitheos is an arts & culture photojournalist and news editor; he is also a published author and a canvas artist with a keen interest in cinema, film movies, live concerts, music festivals, theatre events and creative photography.

...This is a further collaboration/experiment with my daughter; in order to get attuned for Christmas Eve. – In the middle my daughter reminded of the Holy Mary. She is kneeling, and it seems as she is praying to the light… we feel peace and tranquility in this picture. It was a beautiful, relaxing, exciting, shared creative experience for both of us. I call it verbal non-verbal art form. this work was result/accompanied with this song: / Encaustic on encaustic paper.
