The main stencil image is one layer of the four layer stencil I created in early 2008 inspired by my interest in fashion photography. ‘Snow and Umbrella’ is 1 of 3, utilising the same same stencil and composition of works I’ve posted on Red Bubble at the moment. The other is ‘Rain Birds’ and ‘Umbrella and Rain’.

The lighthouse stands alone. / It leads a solitary existence whose purpose is to shine light into dark places. No two lighthouses will ever stand together….for then neither would show their true light to the world. They require space and distance to do their best work. So they spread their light across the land, and across the ocean, steadfast and courageous, guiding, inspiring, never knowing who might be touched by their radiance, always seemingly alone. Yet imagine – what if they could connect with the energy of another lighthouse in a distant place, and their combined power and light create a previously unknown magic to embrace the Earth with force and compassion. While their feet remain firmly planted on their homeground, it is only the space between them that allows the healing light to travel back and forth across expanse and time so that it can be seen and felt by all. Would the Earth itself feel this web of illumination? There must be darkness for the true beauty of light to be appreciated, there must be space for the true nature of love to shine. / ... / .. / . / (Thanks to Kryon for inspiration) PLEASE view larger for best effects…. :-))

Another ratty Infrared photo shot with a battered old Olympus OM1 while zooming around in a little zodiac in the frozen oceans of the Antarctic Peninsular. Another mysterious something captured in the clear blue sky and found later on the negative. Not going to put in the big rant this time. But I do believe that there are signs of the gods all around us should we choose to just open ourselves to them. Could this be one of them? Who knows but its certinally a strange thing to find hovering about in the sky and I for one am open to alternative explainations of what it may be or might symbolize….....:)

Another technical interpretation of the same theme as / And so autumn died The fading bright colours and the blurring of the leaf all represent the end of autumn and the coming of winter. As winter comes, more “white” seeps into the image. You can view all this on the level of the seasons, but it also represent our own faith in life. Whatever I do in art, I always have to smuggle in some symbolism. ;) Unfortunately I was playing around at a low resolution when I created this, so, cards only.
