In January the evening doesn’t start until well after most shoppers have left the city area. The transport to move inhabitants around was ‘Trams’, a fixed rail system in the middle of the city roads. To protect travelers there are raised guide barrier alongside the waiting area in the middle of the road for the tram passengers. This makes it a ‘Safety Zone’ for passengers. This system is still in 2009 the basis of passenger protection. You have to cross to it from the safety of the footpath, when traffic light block the movement of traffic between the footpath and the safety zone.

Whilst in Melbourne this week I took a night stroll down towards the MCG from Federation Square off Flinders Street and photographed the Ferris Wheel that is often seen on RedBubble. A long exposure shot of the slowly turning wheel that is covered with ever changing lights revealed the patterns seen in this series of images. Canon 400D – 17-85 lens.

Taken on Micklegate looking through Micklegate Bar in York one Saturday afternoon. This is a “new” arch to allow easy access for the walkers rather than battle through the small arches with the traffic. These three people were all in “fashion mode” and with the autumn light against the city walls, it became a cat walk for an instant Converted into a pinhole black and white and best viewed large

From under the Burrard Street Bridge, this is False Creek in Vancouver BC Canada. I’ve taken many shots from the dock side before (other shore), but this time I wanted it to be about the harbour, rather than the bridge as a focal point. / This is my first work using PhotmatixPro3 to render HDR from 3 exposures. / Thank you for your views & comments. Cheers, S. /
