Enjoy!
Captured in the early morning light in the autumn at Sunset Lake, NC /
/ This is a still life from my Nostalgia series / It’s created with the “painted with light” technique and digitally enhanced. Here is a tutorial on my work flow. Well, I hope you like my entry into this wonderful community which I discovered by happenstance. Cheers. Update: I’ve been around for a while now, so don’t forget to check out the rest of my Nostalgia series like more work / the calendar /
/ Isn’t another bad day (yet again) on the stock markets the perfect time to show you my latest still life in the “nostalgia” series, entitled: the stock market. / As usual, old and new elements are mingled together. The painted with light technique was used again, as well as digital manipulation to get the end result I was after. / It’s strange, I spent months planning this shot, preparing and getting the props and then in a few hours time it’s shot. It’s almost an anti-climax. / Well, I hope you enjoy it! / By the way, this is the fourth installment in this series, I’m withholding the second one which I consider my masterpiece in this series. I’ll probably upload it in a few days. / °°° / A wallpaper based on this photo can be found here more work / the calendar /
/ sold as a mounted print to a mystery buyer This is my second instalment in the “nostalgia” series, the one I’ve been / withholding from you. Because of it’s very special mood I consider this to be my masterpiece in this series and in general, to date that is. Same general concept and techniques as in the other images from this series with the most important being the painted with light technique more work / the calendar /
This was taken on a lake, at Oakbank, in the Adelaide Hills, South Australia, Australia. It was early morning, so there was still some mist around, on the lake. Tripod was used. There is nothing better than being up early on a cold winter’s day and being greeted with such a beautiful setting. A Canon DSLR EOS 350D camera was used. I took this because of the incredible light, mist and mood that it offered. It was also my husband and his sister bonding very early in the morning.
/ Another instalment in my Nostalgia series / It was created using my painted with light techniques, if you are interested in the details, here is an article I wrote about them. In this case I set the exposure to 15sec. Equipment used: / - Pentax K10D with a SMC Pentax-M 1:3.5 28mm lens / - cheap flashlight and the camera set to auto WB which it screws up resulting in the nostalgic colours. more work / the calendar / Available as a desktop wallpaper

(Fun & Recreation Photos) group’s “Up Close Fun” Challenge and Featured in the Group February 16, 2009. / Featured in Domestic Art – Home is Where The Art Is September 21, 2008. Image taken with the Nikon D40x, using the 18-135mm lens. Used the tripod, shutter speed 6, aperture f/22, exposure -.67, iso 800. No flash. Of everything I’ve done, this is by far my favorite image (well, actually, there IZ one other … ). This was created for a “challenge” at another photo site … and came in second place out of … well, a bunch … but that’s not why it’s my favorite. This was done not long after I got my Nikon D40x … which I realize isn’t a wildly sophisticated camera, but which was a giant leap forward to me after my little Olympus C-5000 zoom. There were many new features on the Nikon that I was hopelessly confused about, but I was very fortunate to have a dear friend, AndreiSky, who kindly helped me understand the mysteries of the aperture. The set up for this image was an adventure in flashlights, darkness, kitchen stools, sofa pillows and the dreaded tripod. Not to mention my beautiful antique mahjong set … for which I finally found a use since I have no idea how to play mahjong!! So that’s it!! My masterpiece!! Hope you like it!!!
Aren’t you glad this isn’t your home?? My husband and I drove by this abandoned house the other day. This is the first time I’ve been able to get inside one. Usually I’m toting the kids, and can only get a quick shot of the outside. Oh man, this place was TRASHED! But so fun to photograph! Unfortunantly, I didn’t have a tripod, nor was there really anything to use as one, so only a couple of my HDR shots didn’t turn out a complete blury. / I wouldn’t like to feed the photographers for which this photo is the plain and simple truth. Another instalment in my Nostalgia series although a little different then usual in the set-up. It’s a lot simpler a composition then most of my work, but let me assure you, it was so much harder to get right! Shot with my relatively new Pentax K10D and a very old Pentax-A 1:1.7 50mm objective. You can read all about the technique used in this tutorial more work / the calendar / preview / “Forgotten” was sold as a Medium mounted print to an anonymous buyer. Thank you! “Forgotten” is also freely downloadable as a wallpaper to decorate your desktop.
