I must say I was quite fascinating with this story i saw on the The Science Channel yesterday, it was all about the LBT (Large Binocular Telescope) if you can check it out, if it interests you as well. I will say this, i have always dreaded not knowing whats coming space wise, and Hubble to me wasnt good enough frankly, but this LBT can tell us and in advance! No fear now once its up and running in full operational mode. Your average binoculars like: Canon L IS WP (10×42) Binoculars, Yet LBT can see 5000×8400!!! / Just to give you an idea of how accurate these can see, they say they could put a soccer ball out past our own galaxy, and be able to easily read the manufacturers label! I just had my first image featured! An image I’m very proud of: “Neon American Flag with Silhouetted Family” taken during the 2002 Winter Olympics here in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA. I felt lucky to have things come together as they did to be able to get this shot. This whole family group just stood still, spontaneously ,for this fairly long exposure shot! No models or setup was involved. I’m grateful to have this image chosen to be featured, and thank you to the Night Photography group for doing so! This is a great artistic community and I’m so glad I stumbled upon it! Steve

If one light year was the same in size as a 30cm ruler. And it takes light about 4 seconds to travel from one side of the Sun to the other. That would make the sun 4\12,960,000 of the size of the ruler. / Thats about 3 nanometers in size. Our solur systems is about 5.30 light hours in size so how big would our solor system be on the ruler. Answer about 0.02 cm in size. (if you hold your fingers as close togeather as possable but do not touch thats still bigger then our solur system.) Now the nearest star to us is Proxima Centauri. And thats 4 rulers away. Or well over one meter away. So my wife is about 1.6m tall that would mean if our sun was at her feet then the other star (Proxima Centauri) would be at her head. Giver or take 10 CM. And we have only sent a man to the moon so thats about 3 nanometers. we have to travel 851,472, 000 time more to get to Proxima Centauri. Mars is 108 time as far as the moon. And thats going to be a mile stone to get there. My point is we are very stuck in this solur system for a long time to come. all maths was worked out by me so pls understand there ARE going to be erroes in it. (I failed maths at school)
