Originally shot on velvia in available light and if you look really closely the model has a camera in her crotch. :) / This is a companion image to “Bloom” these look really good framed. hint hint :)

Taken in January 2005, just south of Perth, Scotland. I looked out the window here late one evening to see a “cloud” of luminous green oriented downwards – “that’s no cloud!” and 5mins later I was a couple of miles away in the middle of nowhere on the road south of Moncrieffe Hill, admiring the pretty greens and reds :)

NOW AVAILABLE IN PRINT After some weeks of developing this piece in my mind it finally just started to come together. As usual I went at the theme with something different in mind. What are we to say about how the divine eye sees our world or we may see the divine world in comparison to our own. This thought inspired a more surreal feel to the finished product. In modern English, the term ghost ship has come to stand for at least one of three separate definitions, all of which involving unexplained circumstances. Historically, the term has been used to refer to reported sightings of apparitions over water that have appeared in the form of maritime sailing ships, often after having previously been known to have sunk, or to derelict vessels found floating with no crew. In fiction, ghost ships have often been vessels crewed by some manner of spectral beings. Full Moons are traditionally associated with temporal insomnia, insanity and various magical phenomena such as lycanthropy. Psychologists, however, have found that there is no strong evidence for effects on human behavior around the time of a full moon. They find that studies are generally not consistent, with some showing a positive effect and others showing a negative effect (hence the terms lunacy and lunatic) Many neopagans hold a monthly ritual called an Esbat at each full moon, while some people practicing traditional Chinese religions prepare their ritual offerings to their ancestors and deities on every full and new moon

Startrails, plane trails, boat trails, car trails. train trails – yep this one has the lot lol. Stanwell Tops last night from 10pm – 11pm looking south to Wollongong just south of Royal National Park. Worth clicking on large – really get to see the startrails even with the annoying watermark. This is a blend of 117 X 30 second exposures using the superb Schurs Startrails action / Your looking at about an hour’s worth of night sky here. Pretty trippy huh! More startrails on the left courtesy of the Milky Way. And a bit of serendipity which I find happens a lot with night shots is that it is by pure chance that I happened to be pointing straight to the south polar star so got nice concentric circles. Now what is particularly strange about this shot is that main plane trail right through the centre of the shot (pretty annoying but no way to get rid of it). The weird bit is that “ricochet” at the left hand edge of the frame like a comet contrail – any ideas?? It looks like the light hits the edge of the frame and then bounces off but it’s a plane trail – there is no way a plane would veer that sharply. Very odd. Taken on Valetine’s eve. / Perfect weather and you could see this Northern light starting slowly on your right side and start to spread more towards the left. The colours where amazing. Normally it’s difficult to see the purple/red but not this time. So I got the entire developing of this Northern lights until it almost covered the sky.
