Cusco, Peru’ ! / While walking in Cusco a few days ago I met this little girl, Flor, and her sister Yolanda ! I had already taken a picture of them last year ” Flor y Yolanda ” and when I showed them a copy of the photo.. they were so impressed that they asked me to take more pictures. This is just one of the many I took ! She is so confident and loves to be photographed !!! I love this picture for the way she poses here, the way she smiles, her spontaneity.. and the beautiful contrast of colors !!!

Taken a few miles east of Leicester, near Allexton. Its that time in the UK, just before the wheat gets harvested – heavy heads beginning to nod gently under the weight of the grain, and the weather unable to decide whether it is summer or not, threatening to flatten the crop, just it is ready. Leicestershire is full of distant horizons like this, and the Barley is all but in now, much of the ground already having been put under the plough in readiness for the next crop.

Late afternoon on a snowy day, County Derry, N. Ireland. Taken with a Canon EOS 50, Fuji Reala iso 100, +2 exposure compensation. Scanned, resized then post processed with levels and curves and a hint of usm. The day I took this photo, a snowy fog came down, and I lost all sense of directions. I wandered about for ages, very cold, and getting really scared.

Pastel on Mein Teintes paper (blue) – 60cm x 35cm I had to go digging way back into the ‘archives’ to find something involving shadows and sheds for a challenge! I pass this rural scene on my way home from work every day (the cow is not always in the same spot, and they have a few goats now)!!!! It was such a lovely day in Clevedon, UK. I had seen a picture a friend took of the pier and was trying to recreate it in colour. I hope you like it. Note to self, always were suncream on a sunny day, ouch. Canon 5D, 24-70mm at 70mm, f/16, 1/100 sec, ISO 100. No filters used. Captured in rural Boulder County, Colorado….let me just say this was honest to God unbelievable to photograph. I had to handhold these shots because of my bum knee and well, the lightning was going crazy right above me. But I managed to get some dang nice shots off. This being one of them. I am really happy with this one, I debated about a square crop, but in the end I figured why the heck not, nothing ventured, nothing gained, right folks?
