I don’t know where to go because I don’t really want to go anywhere. The gravity that pulls my feet is annoying and I lift a leg to dance away into the twilight’s shadows. I see through the fog of my own prison and reach out a hand that doesn’t seem like it belongs to me. I reach to the space I have seen in dreams and movies and unremembered journeys. We held hands in my mind. We were married before the sunrise overlooking a hill that drifted downward to the sea and the glass buildings of empty games. We sang to each other in my mind. We agreed to not agree. We were making love as we walked. Yet it was only in my mind. / And now I look at Venetian blinds that are stained with the smoke of memory and loss. I look beyond. I don’t wish to sleep. Not yet. So I allow myself to drift beyond the plastic and the wood and the metal and the plaster and fall into a hike along a rainbow sea that runs through a canyon of vibrant foliage and drifts away through mist and the light of accidental spontaneous freedom. Yet it is only in my mind. Or is it? And do I care?

While not in any way “religious”, I do firmly believe in the power of Mother Nature. Walking the dogs on my local beach tonight as malevolent storm clouds gathered, I was treated to a moment of true magic, a perfect example of the power of light over darkness.

After a summer evening storm, a double rainbow was forming above my house. I ran outside and couldn’t get the whole thing in one picture. The sky was changing so fast and the left side was going darker while the rainbow glowed brighter. / We’ve had several rainbows appear in the same place about suppertime, but the mountains never looked as good as in this one. I run outside with my camera, get wet and my supper gets cold.

Cosmos is my favorite flower, and the hardest to photograph! They grow so tall and the slightest breeze causes them to dance all around… But still, I love to photograph them! This has a bit of color treatment to it.

This is my first attempt playing with food dye, water and my computer monitor as a brightly lit backdrop. See here for how I created this shot. (The stack of dvds were implemented after this shot was taken) / / This was pretty damn difficult without a tripod or assistant.. One hand holding the camera , one hand holding the dropper, full of dye. Having to get focus on the camera, hold it straight, shoot and drop the dye at once.. I need a tripod haha! / / I had heaps of fun trying to make this work though. Soon learning that dropping the dye closer to the front of the glass allowed for more clarity in the shot. / / The next step will be multiple colours, but not till a tripod is involved lol.
