Taken at the Waterrun, Royal National Park just south of Sydney. The rainbow is from some wave spray and that’s a little waterfall off to the left. / This shot was taken about an hour before Poetry of Chaos. It was amazing watching the storm come in and the colours changing and the sea swell growing. One of the great privileges of living in this park is watching the same landscapes in a myriad of different moods depending on the weather and time of day. Taken at the Waterrun, Royal National Park, just south of Sydney at the same location as Poetry of Chaos and Falling Water Falling Light, but one month later. Really curious that at the same location in the park there were two rainbows in very similar positions but one month apart. I find strange coincidences like this happen a lot in the park – for example shooting storms off the cliffs over a couple of years I’ve found the lightning strikes are almost always in the same place for each storm. Ok, I admit, I made it rain on the poor spider’s home. Not only did I chase it, but I flooded it’s home with water from spray bottle. I couldn’t wait for the real rain to fall, in case the spider’s web disappeared. All I’ve done to the image is brighten it up and place a slight little frame around bottom edge.

This is my rendition of the stairway to heaven, when we go toward the light. In my mind it is this brilliant light filled with the colors of the rainbow. The dove of peace or the Holy Spirit would be waiting to show me the way and to take away any fear. I am not afraid of dying, in fact, I think that it will be the positive experience to far out weigh any positive experience that I have ever had, other than my birth. I don’t know where to go because I don’t really want to go anywhere. The gravity that pulls my feet is annoying and I lift a leg to dance away into the twilight’s shadows. I see through the fog of my own prison and reach out a hand that doesn’t seem like it belongs to me. I reach to the space I have seen in dreams and movies and unremembered journeys. We held hands in my mind. We were married before the sunrise overlooking a hill that drifted downward to the sea and the glass buildings of empty games. We sang to each other in my mind. We agreed to not agree. We were making love as we walked. Yet it was only in my mind. / And now I look at Venetian blinds that are stained with the smoke of memory and loss. I look beyond. I don’t wish to sleep. Not yet. So I allow myself to drift beyond the plastic and the wood and the metal and the plaster and fall into a hike along a rainbow sea that runs through a canyon of vibrant foliage and drifts away through mist and the light of accidental spontaneous freedom. Yet it is only in my mind. Or is it? And do I care?

One step into time and I realize I am running. Or am I falling. The condition was paralysis. I had accepted it. Then I opened a window in a room with no walls and let in the breeze of one small voice that sang a tune from a day long ago when I was in love, felt love, was unafraid of love, was engulfed in love, was uninformed as to the condition of loss that would fall upon my giving myself to love. Was it just youth? / One step away from the condition and it no longer existed. Instead there were only floral winds dancing on days of light and color and high cheek bones sliding across glass that was slippery with my own reflection and the voice of the song plaintive and melodic calling the name of the sea. And the sea had no name. It was a wave. The Condition is acrylic on paper 15”x20”
