  • This was one of the most awesome sunsets I have stood around for – way out in the interior. The tree was so arresting in silhouette and the light was pooling more and more intensely. It was actually raining slightly. / And I was getting nibbled at by turtles in the water as I clicked away over that magic hour.

  • It was an early morning start. I was meeting a friend for a sunrise shoot. The location was all planned out, so was the time – unfortunately we still missed each other. It was my fault. I went to the South end of the beach, he was at the Northern end. /   / Sometimes a mistake can actually turn into luck, and this was the case here. A wonderfully still morning, beautiful light and the moon to boot….. /   / I did eventually meet up with my friend after he finally answered his mobile, but wow was I glad I overshot the Northern Entrance…. Photo Taken: 19-Nov-2006 / Time: 5:20am / Conditions: Great sunny morning   /   /   /   Some other seascape art: / /   /   / /   /   /

  • Old concrete and steel lighthouse in the middle of an estuary

  • A planned get-together with a mate fell through. So instead my son and I went to North Narrabeen beach and took advantage of some magical light and conditions to capture the coast during winter time.    / For a very long time this image was my favourite. I was just amazed at how much light was absorbed by the wooden planks, contrast that with the smooth silky water. Photo Taken: 30-Jul-2006 / Time: 6:45pm / Conditions: Beautiful winters day   /   /   /   /   /   /   /   /   /   Some other seascape art: / /   /   / /   /   /

  • After shooting the pool at the Surf Lifesaving Club. I went for a rock hop around the corner and got to the Ladies pool just after the sun had come over the horizon. For about 15 minutes the sun was a really intense golden colour and lit up the water beautifully.

  • I bought some Singh Ray filters mid November. I did not get a chance to try them out until after Xmas – says a lot about the mad rush leading up to this period of the year. After using them I am in awe as to how effective they are. Photo Taken: 27-Dec-2007 / Time: 5:30am / Conditions: Slightly overcast morning /   /   /   /   /   /   /   /   /   /   /   /   /   Some other seascape art: / /   /   / /   /   /

  • This is a photo for the Melbourne Group Underwater Challenge. This photo is unedited, the colours are how the disposable camera saw and took them. The forum post is here I took this shot lying at the bottom of the pool while Jo swam over the top.

  • Isnt it great when all the elements click ? This morning everything clicked

  • Location: / St. Margaret’s Bay, Kent, England Map: / Multimap Date and Time: / 27 January 2008, 7.40 a.m. Camera details: / ISO 200 : f/22 : 10 seconds : 18mm : Nikon D40 : Nikon 18-55mm lens Shot narrative: / The calm stillness of the water is offset against the crashing waves against the rocks. It was a cold day and the tide was far out meaning that parts of the beach that are usually cut off by the tide were accessable and I could walk a mile or so along the beach from the car park to reach this spot.

  • Caught the last sunrise before the end of daylight savings…..thankfully the rain stopped and some colour popped through the clouds to make it all worth while ;0)

  • I’m temporally challenged so dawn shots are rare for me but a couple of times a year near to daylight saving change-overs the sun stops getting up at a silly hour and becomes rather more civilised. I was lucky enough to shoot this after a night of rain so the rock pool on top of the cliffs was full. Shot off Bundeena Cliffs, Royal National Park, Sydney. Canon 1Ds Mk III / Tv: 1/30 sec / Av: f/22 / ISO: 200 / FL: 35mm

  • Rota Island – August 2009 / straight out of the camera / Life on this island is friendly and unhurried and the hospitality is as unforgettable as the magical sunsets. Rota Island is a natural playground with around 3000 inhabitants and is known by many to be Micronesia’s best-kept secret / Rota (Chamoru: Luta) also known as the “peaceful island”, is the southernmost island of the United States Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) and the second southernmost of the Marianas Archipelago. It lies approximately 40 miles north-northeast of the United States territory of Guam. Songsong village is the largest and most populated followed by Sinapalo village (Sinapalu). In 1521, the first European to see Rota, was the lookout on Magellan’s ship Victoria, Lope Navarro. However, Magellan’s Armada of three ships didn’t stop until they reached Guam, so the first European to arrive in Rota (in 1524), was Spanish navigator Juan Sebastian Elcano, who annexed it together with the rest of the Marianas Archipelago on behalf of the Crown of Spain.
