  • A light dusting of snow covers the country side in Central North Carolina. /

  • We do not remember days, we remember moments. Cesare Parese

  • BEST VIEWED LARGER Dawn looking Across Lavender Bay towards North Sydney, one of the many bays that make up Sydney Harbour

  • Looking north from the road that runs round the shores of Loch Ewe with sunlight breaking through the storm clouds over the mountains.

  • Taken inside Hatteras Lighthouse in North Carolina’s Outer Banks. It’s the tallest lighthouse in the US and the tallest brick lighthouse in the world. An American icon to be sure. The lighting was dim enough that most pictures inside didn’t turn out, but this was very near the top and thus was full of natural light.

  • Just a glimpse of the casual beauty of North Carolina’s Outer Banks. Please let me know if you’d like a calendar made specifically for you! I’ll customize it with any photos from my gallery – for no extra charge.

  • Northern lights visible over Noonan, North Dakota, looking toward Estevan, Saskatchewan.

  • Because of it’s position, the waterfall at Hardraw Scar is turned away from the head of the valley, so the light is either reflected in or if the sun is high enough, creeps in as it does here. Shot in the North Yorkshire dales

  • I found this cheery and bright winter scene beside the New River in the North Carolina mountains near the tiny village of Todd. There were still a few dried up blooms on the hydrangea bush and the winter sunlight gave them an interesting and lively glow.

  • At the foot of Hardraw Scar the light caught in the falling water is reflected across the fall pool. Shot in North Yorkshire

  • This is a collection of images taken along the River Ouse as it flows through the City of York in North Yorkshire. Using the Railway bridge at one end and Skeldergate bridge at the other as the focus points

  • A Thunderstorm out at sea just off the Fremantle coast. Sunday May 31 2009. EOS 500D, 30 second exposure.

  • While out looking for the North Beach Jetty, I stopped at the wrong beach, But found probably the best photo opportunity I have ever found at a Perth beach! The tide was really low last night, Which exposed the reef and provided me with probably the best beach shoot I’ve ever done at a Perth beach! EOS 500D. Featured in: Shapes & Patterns.

  • The last of the light on Rapid River, taken from the Aarwood Road bridge, August, 2009 (Michigan)

  • This view across the North York Moors, with Whitby just over the hill and this road leading to the hidden valleys and villages of Goathland and Beck Hole, with the heather in bloom, is one of the main reasons why this area attracts millions of visitors. Yet the view is down to one ecological man made disaster and then kept that way by another. This area was once ancient wood land, a land of oaks etc.. gentle clearing for cultivation and coppicing / of timber for house building and firewood. Then came international wars and the empire building of founding nation states with their large civic and religious buildings and bigger ships were needed for trade and war and with the natural ports of Whitby and Scarborough close by, these wood stocks were taken down en mass. The more they cut without replanting, the local micro weather also changed, now the winds from the sea and it’s salt, the rain, just washed the rich soil into the valleys and rivers, creating a poor thin soil. Over time nature would have reclaimed it, by then came the second eco disaster, sheep. With the rise in wool prices and lack of people (add the odd plague or three), sheep were left to graze this area, so any tree was never going to make it as sheep and goats grazed the land down. Now the same land is burnt and managed to keep it like this for grouse as well as for the sheep. Such is the contradiction of this area now being part of the National Parks.

  • Another delve into high ISO, 3200 to be exact. High ISO and long exposure noise is evident, dealt with it as best as I can. “Beacons of Light” was taken in St Anthony Newfoundland Canada For more information please visit Brian’s Homepage

  • Early morning farm scene in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. /

  • Northern Lights, images of Teesside, Cleveland and North Yorkshire in north east England, UK

  • well haven’t seen any northern lights since the first of Sept but getting up early this morning was worth it …they were probably better earlier but catching the tail end of them is still better than not seeing them at all…Taken with a Nikon D200,18mm focal length,800ISO with a 40 second exposure…as it was….Ft St John BC Canada

  • Shot looking towards the Bass Rock across a group of rocks from Daisy Island in North Berwick. / Been away from here for a while but hope to start picking up uploads etc as made a couple of sales now. Just got a new camera so looking forward to using it.
