Melbourne City after twilight from Princes Bridge. / Viewed from Southbank on the Yarra River 1.5hrs after sunset. Melbourne is a very pretty city at night with lots of memorable locations. / 30D, 24-70L,mirror lock-up+timer,24mm, 1/15th, f/11,iso100. I’d left my tripod at home so ended up balancing the camera and propping the lens with a Malteeses choclate box. made from two photo’s, one shot above and then another below to capture the view and also to boost detail for print.

Hosier Lane in Melbourne, Australia. A result of 9 images (3 HDR’s) done in Photomatix. Merged the HDR’s in photoshop using automate > Photomerge. On my way home from the city wanted to capture the S curve in the Monash Freeway near East Malvern setup the tripod and aimed the camera through this bloody annoying fence, it was too high for my tripod so i had to zoom in a bit to miss the pailings. So I know there’s gotta be other people out there excited about the release of the new Batman Movie The Dark Knight, or is it just me? This is a tribute to possibly one of my favourite movies! This is also one of my first really serious attempts at creating some digital artwork in Photoshop. This is the result of me having a lot of time, sitting at home sick when I should be at work. The question is can you see Batman?? For this I started off with one of my pics of Melbourne, Australia from Southbank which was a HDR from 3 exposures. I then added in bats, flood lights, batman, the moon etc. and then once again a lot of tinkering in Lightroom to finetune :) This image has had over 5000 views Sales 1 Mounted Print 1 Poster Click here for my other images of Melbourne

Pulled out of the archives from a while ago… A 3 exposure HDR in Photomatix software. This photo was taken with my old Canon 300D, I had a fair bit of trouble deciding what white balance to go with but I think it worked out ok. During last weeks trip to Melbourne I went on an evening stroll and found this line of columns and light at the front of the General Post office (GPO) in the heart of the city. The lines and shapes made for an interesting almost abstract look. The tunnel effect here puzzled me at first as there seemed to be a line working bottom right to top left as well. It was as if the bottom left of the shot separated itself from the rest of the image…...maybe it was just because I was tired by then!!!!! Now that I look at it again is it a line that works from bottom Left to the right???? Lines – lines – lines…..... Canon 400D – 17-85 lens.
