  • Taken in the liffey reserve in Tasmania just behind Deloraine

  • A black and white image taken in 1995 during Irish director Ricky Corrs short film shoot “I am River Phoenix” the story of a surreal transfer of souls as the tragic news breaks that River Phoenix, one of the worlds most promising young talents has died. In this scene River Phoenix is about to meet Marilyn Monroe. This photo and the one titled “I am River Phoenix” were taken atop Irelands then tallest building, the 15 story Liberty Hall.

  • The cutest cottage, nestled in a field rich with daffodils, bursting to life each spring in a sea of yellow and white, deep in the Liffey valley, about an hour from Launceston. The impressive Dry’s Bluff stands strong behind the cottage, usually with a cap of snow in winter, although is not visible from this low angle.

  • As I was photographing the beautiful Liffey Falls, this side trickle caught my attention. Sometimes it’s the little things.

  • Some of the Cascades above Liffey Falls. It was such fun (even if a bit cold) paddling in the water to get these shots.

  • Taken at Liffey Reserve in Tasmania

  • A triptych of three images taken at Liffey Falls, in Tasmania.

  • HDR shot using 5 exposures. The colours were pretty much as seen here though !

  • A small waterfall on the Liffey river just before the main Liffey Falls in northern Tasmania. / Camera- Mamiya ZE-2 / Lens- Osawa 28-80 / Film- Fuji Reala 100 / Exposure Details- 1/2 second at f11

  • White horse sheltering from the rain under a white-flowered tree. Liffey, Tasmania

  • Another shot of Liffey Falls in Tasmania, this time from a side on angle.

  • Liffey Falls State Reserve is nestled within cool temperate rainforest on the slopes of the Great Western Tiers. Rising on the northern edge of the Great Western Tiers, the Liffey River plunges through dense rainforest of myrtle, sassafras and leatherwood and over spectacular waterfalls before reaching rich northern farmlands and joining the South Esk River. There are two reserves on the upper reaches of the river, with picnic and barbecue facilities as well as excellent short walks through the forest. In 1989 the Liffey Falls State Reserve was included in the World Heritage Area, a tribute to the globally significant value of the region. The area has a rich human heritage and a geomorphology that reflects the forces, which shaped the landscape over the past 250 million years. A generally dull day, with little water due to the drought, I managed to capture this as a shaft of rare sunlight broke through the forest canopy. Canon 400D 18-55 IS, 3 RAW……tonemapped

  • This photo was taken standing on Liffey River bridge in one very cold January evening.

  • The Ha’penny Bridge over the River Liffey, Dublin, Ireland. Before the Ha’penny Bridge was built there were seven ferries, operated by a William Walsh, across the Liffey. The ferries were in a bad condition and Walsh was informed that he had to either fix them or build a bridge. Walsh chose the latter option and was granted the right to extract a ha’penny toll from anyone crossing it for 100 years. Initially the toll charge was based, not on the cost of construction, but to match the charges levied by the ferries it replaced. A further condition of construction was that, if the citizens of Dublin found the bridge and toll to be “objectionable” within its first year of operation, it was to be removed at no cost to the city. The toll was increased for a time to a Penny Ha’penny (one and a half pence), but was eventually dropped in 1919. While the toll was in operation, there were turnstiles at either end the bridge. Taken on my first trip to Dublin with Canon 450D – straight from the camera.
