Taken in the liffey reserve in Tasmania just behind Deloraine
A black and white image taken in 1995 during Irish director Ricky Corrs short film shoot “I am River Phoenix” the story of a surreal transfer of souls as the tragic news breaks that River Phoenix, one of the worlds most promising young talents has died. In this scene River Phoenix is about to meet Marilyn Monroe. This photo and the one titled “I am River Phoenix” were taken atop Irelands then tallest building, the 15 story Liberty Hall.

Beautiful Liffey Falls in North Central Tasmania. Well worth a visit if you are travelling between Devonport and Launceston and have a couple of hours to spare.
Liffey falls in Tasmania on the island below the mainland of Australia. Click on the photo and see the larger view on this one! Thanks for visiting! / I really appreciate your comments.
Some of the Cascades above Liffey Falls. It was such fun (even if a bit cold) paddling in the water to get these shots.
.. taken today 28.12.07. It was a cloudy start to the day so I thought it would be great for photos (instead of glaring sunshine) – but the annoying sun popped out. I have noticed that people on redbubble seem to enjoy the more unusual views (like my one called “flowing down from the Liffey Falls”) of these tourist destinations instead of the usual picture (like this one) /
Found another one of this beautiful area in Northern Tasmania
The beautiful Liffey Falls, Tasmania. /
HDR shot using 5 exposures. The colours were pretty much as seen here though !
The beautiful Liffey Falls is just one of many cascades in a small stretch of the Liffey River just south of Deloraine & The Golden Valley on the way to Great Lake in Tasmanias central north. / It is a beautiful peaceful area well worth taking the Lake Highway to visit. Here’s a shot from Liffey State Forest that i took while making my way down to the Liffey Falls.. Beautiful lush green ferns and moss covered trees.. so serene… Featured in Tasmania group / Thanks!
Liffey Falls State Reserve is nestled within cool temperate rainforest on the slopes of the Great Western Tiers. Rising on the northern edge of the Great Western Tiers, the Liffey River plunges through dense rainforest of myrtle, sassafras and leatherwood and over spectacular waterfalls before reaching rich northern farmlands and joining the South Esk River. There are two reserves on the upper reaches of the river, with picnic and barbecue facilities as well as excellent short walks through the forest. In 1989 the Liffey Falls State Reserve was included in the World Heritage Area, a tribute to the globally significant value of the region. The area has a rich human heritage and a geomorphology that reflects the forces, which shaped the landscape over the past 250 million years. A generally dull day, with little water due to the drought, I managed to capture this as a shaft of rare sunlight broke through the forest canopy. Canon 400D 18-55 IS, 3 RAW…...tonemapped Link

Somewhere in the middle of beautiful Tasmania. MY STORY
This is the track leading to Liffey Falls in northern Tasmania. Konica Minolta Z20 camera. Orton effect applied in Photoshop.
Walking to the bottom of Liffey Falls today was the perfect way to work off what was quite possibly the biggest jam and cream bun in the entire history of the world. If you are ever passing through Deloraine in Tasmania you simply must stop at the frog bakery. This shot was taken about half way down the walking track. And was the last shot taken before my poor Canon 40D started giving me random Error 99 messages :( I managed to get another couple of decent shots, but it was soul destroying to be in amongst some beautiful rainforest and gorgeous waterfalls with a defective camera. Now I need to go and find my instruction book and see if I can work out how exactly I have offended the Canon Gods. I have a feeling it may be something to do with the shutter sticking. sigh However, on the upside I did manage to get this shot which received the following comment from my trusty packhorse, slimey rock tester and bottom pusherer – my hubby. “Well babe, you gotta be happy you got that!” High praise indeed :))
