It starts with a rush through the veins… / The perfect location is unwinding around the corner. / We get out of the car, my head spinning with so many ideas from my previous visit the day before.. / Clouds part and allow the beautiful warmth of the sun to touch every being. / Light is peering through the trees, falling and reflecting from the glowing couple, contrasting with the vivid green moss.. / “Click” the blood rushes, my heart flutters as this wonderful thing called love is captured in my little black box awaiting my approval and tlc in my image software.. / “Click” My hands are almost shaking from the scene that is unfolding before my eyes Is this real..? / Could people really be paying me to do what I love….?

It took a while tonight, but I eventually found a few links to the winners of that fantastic photo competition we all entered a few months ago! Whilst I was not a winner in any of the categories (I had submissions in three of them), I’m still winning by being a registered member here. See, I am selling my work. I use my RedBubble gallery as a base to display my work … and I sell a lot of photographs offline! Last week I had 60 prints (at 6inch x 4inch) of my photography on RedBubble printed at TEDS in Rundle Street in Adelaide . No big deal. Took them to work yesterday. Showed a few women. Within an hour, quite a few of those ladies put instant requests in. A couple just wanted more 6×4’s, and one wants a couple at A4 size. Late this afternoon one remarked that I should have brought in MORE cards for Father’s Day! Damn, but I had a good come back line, Next Year!. Actually, I’m planning to get about 100 to 200 printed through RB before the end of November – for Christmas cards. I’ve been informed they should sell VERY fast! So now we are moving a few steps ahead: Tomorrow we (the wife and I) are getting 20 x A4 prints of these photographs, all of which are on display on RB: From SaharaBelle’s Collection / 1. I’ve been waiting twenty-something years to afford to do this … which is WAAAY too long. After watching younger people around me jump into fantastic jobs and positions over the last few months, I’ve decided it’s FINALLY time to and be more. All the photographs above will be put into a new A3 folder I purchased some time ago. Then I will take that around with me to show off. You want to buy one? OK, either you buy straight from the folder (though I am not sure about that idea), or I take your details and deliver. The whole concept is still being worked on, so we have some planning to work out. My father is an astute business man, and I have a brother whom is a brilliant salesman … so I hope to get both their time-tested advice on certain issues very shortly. / The folder will also be used to convince Adelaide TAFE that I am a worthy student. I won’t write my sales-pitch to the TAFE here, it’s a little corny … but all very true. More about the next stage of this new adventure in my life will be on display over the next week. And I’ll be writing about how we plan to build a Home-Studio and the New Kitchen over the coming months! So sorry for being a little scarce lately … I have had a lot going on and can now finally breath a little. First off, I just went for an Interview for a Job here in Kellerberrin at the local Hardware Store. Originally they wanted someone to help reconcile accounts etc on the computer system, but because I could be up and moving at anytime, they have given me a casual position as a sales assistant :) For that I would like to thank Kate, Judy, Scott and Noel!! Without your help I would never have even thought to ask. I also had my follow up specialist appointment yesterday in Perth, with the Chest and Lung Dr. My results show I am the same and that with time and giving up smoking, there is no reason I can’t lead a full and normal life :) That was the best news I could have heard. I have been so anxious and confused about exactly what I could and couldn’t do from now on. Now I am more aware. So I am sticking to my plan of cutting down slowly on the smoking to the point when I move and am relatively stress free I will finally give them up for good. Of the results all were normal except for one which was bordering on Normal so I am glad the tests etc from earlier this year picked up the Disease early on and now I can work on not allowing that to get any worse :) :) Great news :) Have one more hurdle to get over before I can really start thinking about moving on. The mediation service with my ex girlfriend is next week. This is the last thing now stopping me from moving at the moment. Fingers crossed that goes well and something is agreed upon and I can finally start packing :) :) All this is helping so much with how I am dealing with my Depression, there is nothing like good news and maybe more to the point, having somewhat more control of your own life that helps deal with depression so much easier. :) Right now I am on top of the world. :) VBS

Hi Everyone :) VBS I know that some of you would have noticed that I haven’t been around for a while. I just wanted to say hi to you all and say I am still here … I am VERY busy at the moment is all. Last week I had the Mediation Service with my Ex Girlfriend … We came to a deal where she gets a certain percentage and I get the rest. It wasn’t exactly what I had in mind, but it’s over :) Now I am free to sell the houses and she will sign, so it’s a huge relief. :) Also, two weeks ago I landed a casual job here in Kellerberrin at the local hardware store, so I have been working 30 hrs a week as well :) :) VBS The other reason I have been so quiet is because I am already packing and cleaning here. I have a buyer (The guy who bought the houses in Jan this year which fell through because of my ex not signing) I am waiting for him to get back to me about his finances. So I have been busy busy busy. I want to have everything packed for the removalist ASAP so I can move at a moments notice. I am also looking for somewhere to rent in Ballarat. Preferably South Ballarat and in a quiet area that will let me have my 2 cats and dog. If anyone from that area knows of anything PLEASE let me know :) :) So that is why I haven’t been around much. I promise to try to at least get a Showcase up this weekend (thank you to those of you who sent me links) and hopefully get another lot of discounts up for those that follow my sale items :) I hope everyone is doing well :) I AM!! :) :) VBS

I just had one of those moments where 4 people are asking to do shoots and I’m running around my diary frantically looking for a space. Then it occured to me- there wasn’t one. At least not in 2007. I carefully flicked back over all of it – no, nothing left. That can’t be right? So I transfer it all onto the calendar. All booked. Definitely. A few are tentative bookings but I’m confident they will go ahead. So I start to flick backwards. Just how long has this been going on? Then I realise I have not had a full day off since… hang on, where’d I put the 2006 diary? Actually there are a handful of days where I’ve written in angry black marker “DON’T BOOK ANYTHING” which is me forcing myself to have a day off. About half of these have a “shoot with xyz” squashed in around the warning to myself. This year for Christmas I’m going to ask for free time. Or a kick in the head. Which ever will work better! Where does the time go?

I am so sorry for not responding again to the beautiful photos that I look at quickly but I am so swamped. Not only do I have my daughter getting married in June and a son graduating in May but I am finishing my Masters in Counseling. As of now I am writing a 20 page proposal on what kind of group I would like to lead. That has me perplexed since I don’t want to lead a group! haha. I also have to attend a group meeting, at least 6 or them and write a paper on that one. Then after that my last two classes start and I will be over except for my internship. I just wanted you all to know that I love you all and I am not ignoring anyone on purpose but right now I can’t get out to take any photos. I do promise to get better when things slow down for me. Please don’t delete me as a friend since I have been remise to leave comments. I promise to get better but never perfect. I am so far behind in comments that I will never catch up so I ask for your forgiveness and patience as I go through this stage in my life. I am never going to give up photography but do more of it after I finish this part of my life! Should have done this when I was younger but when it’s all over I will be smart! haha. I have sold the original of Tropical Reef to a buyer from Brisbane…...I am proud to say this wonderful painting will be making it’s way to Brisbane early March…...I will deliver it myself….then head out to the art galleries whilst there…...The girl from the bush goes to the city…..lol This painting is 1m x1m and to truly value it you need to see it in person…there are layers of collage, layers of thin glazes of paint….it is truly stunning…..letting it go is not easy….. Wow, my last journal entry was 6 whole months ago. Sorry for my absence from this site (if anyone noticed that is :|) The reason is that the HSC is eating my life really :) The only art I’ve been managing to do is my art major work, which (thank goodness) is now completed. However, there are still the trial examinations and then the actual HSC exams to go, which won’t be over until mid November :( So I don’t really see myself having much time to do anything vaguely enjoyable if i want to get into the course i want :( I might be able to fit in some shoots this holidays, but it’s a slim chance. On the upside, after final exams are over I’ll be traveling to Vanuatu so I should come back with some lovely shots for you all :) Just wanted to pop back in and say hi, I miss this place. Love you all ♥ Imogene

For those who are curious about such things, I’ve started taking pictures of my artworks as they are in progress, so one can see the stag…
For those who are curious about such things, I’ve started taking pictures of my artworks as they are in progress, so one can see the stages of development. First up is “Ursa”, a mixed media piece measuring 11×15 inches. First to the drawing board (literally) for a preparatory sketch: Then I start to make the initial colorization. I generally start with the face first: Harley Cat is apparently appalled at the direction this new artwork is taking. Or he’s just very tired. Final stages: Scan of the final image: Next up is my latest piece, “Three Ravens”, which measures 25×19 inches. The initial sketch with the first bird colorized and all the “halos” painted in with gold acrylics: I used blue pastel paper to make the color on the ravens “pop” more: / Another raven comes to life: / Starting in on the background with it’s stylized wheat field: / / The final artwork: / Professional photo: / And finally a sneak peak at a new piece I started last night, called “The Serpent Tree”, which is inspired by the various world tree / tree of life myths.
