I came across this building on my run about in the snow storm. I thought of doing it in B&W or even Sepia.. But alas I liked the colors that showed.. These small sheds and barns were built to last. Some made of ash tree’s. It looks as if its being kept in repair and still an older look.. With the falling snow and overcast sky it made my choice.. hope you agree..
Deep in the Enchanted wood, in the wilds of mid Wales, amongst the still quiet and skeletal trees, a river bubbled its way through the silence ….... Copyright 2008 richiedean / Machynlleth Wales UK / 2 image compilation / Photoshop CS3

30”x 40” acrylic on Number 80 Bainbridge Board cold-pressed. I used gesso to cover the beginnings of something I had started a long time ago. I have been working on this off and on for the past couple of weeks…...... between giving time to two grandsons, ten cats, and a dog. First large painting, and first flowers I have done in a while. My inspiration has been all the wonderful florals I have seen on RedBubble! There are so many beautiful paintings and drawings on this site….....all are an inspiration for me to paint and draw again.

We never thought this day would come, / But it’s finally here at last, What once was our bright future, / Is now are dim-lit past, But we hold onto the memories, / The lessons that we learned, The pathways we have traveled down, / The corners that we turned, And soon we say our sad goodbyes, / That will last us forever, We may see each other again, / Maybe once or maybe never, So make your goodbyes ones to remember, / The kind that will stay in their heads, Those are the goodbyes they will treasure, / The ones that were sad to be said.
All those old forgotten promises and plans…...........................

/ “Still Life with Wellingtons” is another of my larger works that I promised to start adding to my RB gallery…just finished today, it has all the components of my favourite style of painting; lots of texture, trompe l’oeil, and a touch of surrealism in the subject matter…the shiny boots contrast nicely with the rough wood and the rusty nail….it will fit in perfectly with the Spring Fever collection, but really belongs with the Portfolio collection…the whole is totally imagined…I created the wood panel as I went along and it was such fun, I had to restrain myself from adding more knots…I found Elizabeth Bishop’s words to be truly an inspiring accompaniment to the painting”... Watercolour on Saunders Waterford Rough paper… “It was cold and windy, scarcely the day / to take a walk on that long beach / Everything was withdrawn as far as possible, / indrawn: the tide far out, the ocean shrunken, / seabirds in ones or twos. / The rackety, icy, offshore wind / numbed our faces on one side; / disrupted the formation / of a lone flight of Canada geese; / and blew back the low, inaudible rollers / in upright, steely mist.” Elizabeth Bishop, The End of March / The Sap Bucket
The house sits like her heart… Empty, once full of love and life, now the halls echo with the laughter..the joy of their love, Memories of happiness are all she has. He left for work that day with a kiss to her lips, a “I love you” on his way out the door, she waved to him out the window and blew him a kiss..if she only knew that would be the last time she tasted his kiss, felt his touch, she would never have let him go..The only relief out of all this pain and heartache is he didn’t suffer, when the truck hit his car head on, he died instantly. Now she waits, unable to leave their home, not wanting to go on, knowing that he waits for her..she prays for “HER” life after death, to be in his arms again, to feel his kiss, his touch, to make this house their home for eternity, the way it should have been..but again she wakes to the emptiness of the halls, the emptiness of their bed and of her heart..she goes to the window and like a movie played over and over agiain she sees him getting into his car..she pounds on the window..yells for him to STOP!!!..to COME BACK!!!...and like every day he pulls away and disappears into thin air…leaving her again.to her pain, and their empty house. Another abandoned house, Loved the blue color of this place. Nikon D90 / 18-200 mm VR lens
