medium-pencil / better photo of my work!
...These most recent pieces (my best work yet) reflect how I choose to view myself, life and everything it ‘that is’...!! I would describe life in the same way I do myself…. a mess… but a BEAUTIFUL one!!! ...These latest pieces would not have been brought to life without the inspiration of my BEST friend. She not only inspired this latest work but the title for this piece too! =)
Macro shot of a multicolored leaf.
For this shot, I had my head right in the chimney… (lol I almost burnt my bangs) / This picture was taken at F4,5, speed 1/1000 Sec. Iso 1600, Focal length 85.0 mm with an approach lense.
I saw a dragon’s head on the left side of the picture, therefore, I called it such. It is actually the foot of a hot flame eating away the wood in a chimney. This picture was taken at F5.6, speed 1/25 Sec. Iso 1600, Focal length 300.0 mm I used an approach lense too.
A macro shot of an orange/yellow/red leaf
A young man I shared a few minutes with in Rwanda.
HDR image of a group of trees captured while driving around and hunting for photo opps during Christmas vacation in Pennsylvania. I love the colors in the field and the grouping of the trees really caught my eye.
Testing out my new macro lens on my backyard flowers…

A new addition to the Tropical and Food Collections, this painting is a tribute to the juiciness of the fruit…unlike my previous renditions of the Papaya, this is painted with much fewer details and has a relaxed feel to it, which is more in tune with the tropics...it is also part of the Sepia and Gold colour collection See the entire Tropical Collection..HERE Watercolour with Pen and Ink on DrawMaster Paper “They grew like giants in our backyard / in Cuba, thin, ravenously thirsty plants / that bore fruit every spring, first as small / as pears, then the fruit swelled to the size / of footballs, their communal weight / a clumped burden on the whole plant— / only my father knew for sure when to cut / them down, bring them inside the house, / in the kitchen he sliced them, these toothy / smiles, teeth like black goblets, a volcano’s / ashy tear on leaves, sweet, delicious, these / fruta bombas, as my father called them. / For years while we lived in Los Angeles, / he couldn’t grow them in such a dry climate, / but when he moved to Hialeah, Florida, / he harvested them once again, brought / them upstairs under his arms, a smile”..excerpt..V.
