Evening all, have spent today looking at starting the family tree but have found it rather complicated due to split marriages/partnerships with children from different relationships. If anyone’s got more ideas to ease this I’d be happy to learn of them. 2008, this is my year. I feel it! I believe it! I am so ready for it!! Been a single father for 16 years now. 16 years!!!! Wow, I could write page after page on those 16 years. First entry being…. “16 Years, where’d they go?” I am happy. I truly believe I have always been happy. That’s just who I am inside. I know people (family) have seen me frusterated, beaten down a time or 2. But happiness hasn’t been beaten out of me, not even close. After~all, I have 2 amazing kids to remind me everyday of the good work I have done. But now, their old enough to fend for themselves, for the most part. And in a blink of an eye will be out on their own (maybe). :-D Anyways, I am ready to take focus on my life again. I have many talents, and one of them is holding my claim to fame, so I believe. This year I am going to push forward at every door I see cracked, and see where life, and my talents take me. So if your looking for a photographer to grace the pages of your nature magazine, or poems or writings to take a page or 2 in a book or magazine, I would so love to have my chance to remind the world what life is truly all about. Oh my dear friends, I’m full of joy and tears today as I check in quickly and find on my writing alone I just hit over 10,000 views in so short a time too!!! What can I say but thank you all and thank you redbubble. When I first started writing just over 12 months ago, I had not written since school, even so I found it helped me in staying optimistic when so many things seemed to be so bleak… through your encouragement and supportive reads, you shuld be proud to know you’ve kept me near sane and helped me through some dark, long and cold hours when I’ve thought pain would never subside, by giving me something to read and view when I cannot write myself. Even when I’ve had technical struggles you’ve continually supported me and for all that I cannot show how much it means to me. If this is reaching out through one site, it makes me wonder just how many eyes are watching us at any time throught different circles we move in. Well, I just wanted to raise a little optimism between you all, and give you something back you should be proud of yourselves, for you do not know how such small touches are changing lives dramatically for the better. We want to stress that this is a pilot – moving forward, we will work closely with Amazon and other marketplaces, as well as solicit your advice to decide on the most effective manner of offering this service to you. We are evaluating many options, including how to best allow our authors to opt in and how to include a mark-up to cover the retail fee. Especially if you are in th UK or holiday there, in particular I’m referring at the moment to Wales….Why? / Because we are in recession and it’s hitting many companies and home holders alike, infact in differing ways it is most likely hitting us all…However, my thoughts turn to the charity I try to help as a volunteer fundraiser, called Wales Air Ambulance. Why? Because this year sees us neeeding to raise sufficient funds not only to keep the service flying, but we’ve been told we need to purchase 3 new helicopters. This is a life saving charity, and we are reliant upon public donation as we get no lottery or government funding. The government pay a small amount towards the training of the paramedics, but the real costs lie in keeping us flying. We realise there is little money around at this time and have worked out that if everyone could dig deep in their pockets for £1, this year it would get us through this climate. £1, could be what keeps us flying in order to save the lives of someone we know, God forbid it should happen to any of us, but none of us know what is around the corner. How much is a life worth? Could you consider sparing that £1 to help save a persons life. Every year countless lives are saved, and throught the Air Ambulance, we can try to get people the right help at the right time as quickly as possible. / It costs around £15 per minute to keep flying alone… The end of September sees our golden hour week, that hour that celebrates getting that help in quick, that determines how quickly a person rescued can be on the road to recovery with the right assistance intervening quickly… So what am I asking? I’m asking each of you to join us in keeping this service active, many of us do not appreciate it until we have seen someone close needing it or seeing the service in action… Heres some ideas of how you can help:- / We need cash donations / We have a lottery / We have collection boxes / There are heaps of fundraising activities you could get your organisation to organise and join in with whilst having fun… / We need raffle prizes / We need auction prizes / We need individual fundraisers…sponsored events etc… / We need good quality furniture and bric-a-brac donations for our shops / We need volunteers to help organise/attend events and share fresh ideas / We need old mobile phones / We need companies/individuals who can advertise with us or supporting us for newspaper features or in programs for events / We need floats for carnivals / We need venues for advertising/promoting/fund-raising I’d like to collect some bits and pieces – if anyone can help with anything please shout me through bubblemail, similarly with any of the above I can help you with… I can relay messages as necessary then to the right person and lighten some of the load of the few people who actually have paid jobs within the organisation… (This helps keep costs to a minimum, increasing flying time). I have an idea that it would be wonderful if we could get some of this rolling in ready for our end of Sept, golden hour week. Maybe there are companies out there or schools could do a bring a pound in day for us as something easy, as this would help with collecting and is surely not too much for many families to meet as cost? Obviously if anyone would like to give more hey, that’s great for there are those who simply won’t and there will be huge shortfall then. Where are we at? In June and fast approaching July with funds for…1 helicopter, so we have a long way to go. We still need 2 more and funds to fly them then…. Please do not under-estimate the work they do, paramedics arrive on scene and are to work straight away in trying to administer as much help as they can as quickly as possible whilst organising getting patient to the best place for them available at the time… I know there are many charities in similar position, and all need elements of consifderation for different reasons. I appreciate we cannot support everything all the time or we’d be broke ourselves. For those that can’t but feel they want to do something, maybe consider a couple of hours or so a month helping us. I’ve said enough already, if I can help further please ask and I shall be happy to help. Let us hope none of us or those closest to us need the service ever… Remains for me to thankyou for your kindness in stopping by to read this, please help if you can…Anna-Marie.
