  • Mark, an American soldier, gave his life for his fellow countrymen in the war in Iraq. The only one of his unit to survive the initial blast, he battled for life as he was flown back to the United States for medical care. His family flocked to his side and surrounded him with love in his final hours. Not long after his arrival in America, he died on home soil in the arms of his loved ones. His mother Kim, my husband’s first cousin, wrote this poem, “Is it you?” as she struggled with grief and loneliness for her young son. She asked me if I had a dragonfly photo to accompany her poem which relates the tale of the dragonflies that seem to hover near her in a show of consolation. This image is our collaboration, our joint effort, in memory of Mark Graham who defended the cause of freedom with steadfast determination and a valiant heart. May he rest in peace and may the angels surround him and his family now and forever. (100% of proceeds from sales will go to the Mark W. Graham Foundation; see another image, “Is it you?” in this portfolio if you’d like a green dragonfly. It will print better in the card size). Taken from the Mark W. Graham Foundation website, here is additional information about the foundation to which all funds from the sales of these images will be donated: “The Mark W. Graham Foundation is a non-profit organization which provides support for young people of character and military families in crisis. It honors the legacy of Mark Graham, a fallen soldier whose strength of character and gift of service to his country are an inspiration to all who knew him. Mark was a Lafayette, La., native and his death opened the community’s eyes to the reality of war and the sacrifice soldiers make in their fight to keep our country free. He was married to Stephanie for a little more than a year when he died. Mark was 22 years old.”

* / English version: The key In the beaming light there thou stroll’st, / thy sore, oppressed soul finally comes to a rest. Thy heart with all its love now talks, / and ultimately thy smile enlightens thy face again. The truth thou can feel now deep inside of thee, / thy silent prayers, thy calls for help – they’ve reached me. The testing time was hard and difficult … / often thou did feel so alone, tired and hollow within. Thou nearly broke under the heap of thy fears and sorrow, / and thy soul was tortured by so many questions… Not free of it thou are’st now – nor will you be for a bit of time, / but nonetheless thou are willing to ignite the shining light. The angel in thee – he calls for me, / as I am with thee … just believe in me. Walk thy path with care and arouse thy strength, / don’t be afraid when others talk about „mighty power“ . The power meant … is the shimmering light, / it is the love speaking out of thy shining soul. Trust in thyself and thy INNER child! / Keep saying again and again: I am loving myself! The love for thee is the key for thyself / and somewhen … thou will even be able to recognize me. * / Photograph inspired by the words – written by me! /

  • Presentation of my poetry book You may also purchase my second poetry book / (I could send it for you by post) ABOUT MY EXHIBITION The woks exhibited represent the linkup of two artists, a photographer and a sculptor. Such an attempt to blend two spheres of art is really innovative and a bit unexpected. There had been few who were successful in such an attempt. Both authors, blending their art by the means of the photo art, are the winners. Sculpture, as such, is rather a static art, sometimes “performing” in a specific, sometimes artificial, environment. However, the means of the plastic photography, seemingly, make the sculptures movable, dynamic; they make you feel the sculptures are moving. They become alive, start moving and react both to the environment and the views captured by the photographer. I would like the viewers also note the colour solutions of the photos, aimed at the strengthening of the overall impression of the imagery. The original blend and overlapping of two arts let see the impressive plastic metaphors, giving birth to various associations. CLICK PHOTO IF YOU WANT VIEW / /

    by colorblind

Think about it…If we have enough power to destroy the world / Why don’t we have enough power to save the world / But yet We’re Only Human

  • transformational prophetic innocence …...brilliant and unafraid…full of vision and heart minus the judge. i was inspired to share this after reading ben’s taylor’s story ( karin’s lovely son) he is an achiever of wondrous things!

  • Sorrow of Indian Summer She asked if I had any memories / I lie and utter yes, a couple. / How sad that must be for you, / I lie and utter no. / Do you miss her, / I lie and utter no. / Is the soul swallowing darkness / deep within my icey gaze / not transparent enough? / It is so sad, I am so sorry for you, / I lie and utter thanks. / Dead is dead, matters not how, or why, or who. / Once gone, forgotten or not, / dead is dead, woman or beast, / least of least, rest in peace.

  • Quietly the light shines and everything is bright! / The door opens and we go inside! / Arms stretched out we feel the warmth / Love fills our hearts and our hope renews / Be still and see that life is free!

  • Oil Painting…I painted this quite a few years ago (maybe 1995-1996). It is based on a detail from a famous painting but unfortunately I cannot remember what the name of the painting was or who the original artist was. My version of this painting was painted on 16”x12” canvas board. I’ve decided to name it ‘Ode to an Urn’ as it reminds me of my favourite poem. Ode on a Grecian Urn by John Keats / I also love one of his other ‘Odes’ Ode to a Nightingale ...if I could only find myself a nightingale. LOL! • Every day she holds out her hand and offers them to us… / Every day, her gifts await our open eyes / and open hearts. / Will you stop, recognize, and receive these gifts? / Or will you, trapped within your own giftless cycles, / walk blindly by. / The choice is yours. Our beautiful planet brings these gifts to us….. / and our spirits endow us with these powerful expressions of our soul…... This is my gift – little glimpses of that which inspires me daily – with much love, to my friends here on redbubble…. you know who you are…all of you. xxxx

  • The sixties awakened humanity’s heart / transforming traditional culture’s depart Historical perspectives tire of money as time / With modern progress costing our very last dime Leading edge thought seeks awareness within / silent we trek with respect to purposeful spin Trailblazing paths with effective resolve / to replace standard quality of life to evolve Uncluttering trappings and diversions of old / the dawning of a new reality begins to unfold Being as well as doing does nag us so deep / a virtue of consciousness surely will seep With love and forgiveness alive and well / to counterbalance fear and angers’ dwell Contributing thoughts, dreams and passions / for so many hungry souls universally to ration Our hearts will blossom with action to serve / humanity’s highest spiritual joy, it deserves As Cultural Creatives who cooperate, not compete / destiny’s transformation will soon be complete Awakened we are to our truest potential being / accepting and tolerant is the shift we’ll be seeing. TK Rosevear 7/29/09 This poem was inspired after reading a book today by Owen Waters called “The Shift”. An amazing confirmation of our stepping forward into New Reality consciousness, to experience new vistas of awareness and new levels of creativity. Following our hearts to express our inner joys through making our own meaningful contribution to the betterment of the world. I am grateful and believe that it is truly a great time to be alive! • Who is Silvia? what is she, / That all our swains commend her? / Holy, fair, and wise is she; / The heaven such grace did lend her, / That she might admirèd be. / Is she kind as she is fair? / For beauty lives with kindness. / Love doth to her eyes repair, / To help him of his blindness, / And, being helped, inhabits there. / Then to Silvia let us sing, / That Silvia is excelling; / She excels each mortal thing / Upon the dull earth dwelling: / To her let us garlands bring...Shakespeare Watercolour on Arches Not Paper FEATURED IN THE FOLLOWING GROUPS… / CREATIVE CARDS.. / IMPRESSIONIST ART / FINE ART / The Riddle / Illusion / The Wish / Virtue / The Party / The Beauty / The Star / The Night / The Temptation / The Quiet / The Plea / Le Maquillage

  • We see you as we see a face / That trembles in a forest place / Upon the mirror of a pool / Forever quiet, clear and cool; / And in the wayward glass, appears / To hover between smiles and tears, / Elfin and human, airy and true, / And backed by the reflected blue...Katharine by / R.L.Stevenson When this painting was finished, I could not help but think of Stevenson’s “Katharine” and her “elfin” face…this delicate “quiet and cool” beauty seems to “mirror” his “trembling face, hovering between smiles and tears”.. • As in Bathsheba Everdene, from Thomas Hardy’s “Far from the Madding Crowd”...within a short time of arriving at her aunt’s house, Bathsheba has the neighbouring young men at her feet…independent, beautiful and intelligent, she rises quickly when she inherits her uncle’s farm, then shocks everyone by deciding to manage it herself…..her three suitors are each determined to marry her.. / “The book (which I have read a zillion times), has been described as an early piece of feminist literature, since it features an independent woman with the courage to defy convention by running a farm herself. Although Bathsheba’s passionate nature leads her into serious errors of judgment, Hardy endows her with sufficient resilience, intelligence, and good luck to overcome her youthful folly”.wiki Watercolour on Arches Not Paper / Katharine / Sylvia / The Riddle / Illusion / The Wish / Virtue / The Party / The Beauty / The Star / The Night / The Temptation / The Quiet / The Plea / Le Maquillage

  • When exactly nine years had passed since this gracious being appeared to me, as I have described, it happened that on the last day of this intervening period this marvel appeared before me again, dressed in purest white, walking between two other women of distinguished bearing, both older than herself. As they walked down the street she turned her eyes toward me where I stood in fear and trembling, and with her ineffable courtesy, which is now rewarded in eternal life, she greeted me; and such was the virtue of her greeting that I seemed to experience the height of bliss. It was exactly the ninth hour of day when she gave me her sweet greeting. As this was the first time she had ever spoken to me, I was filled with such joy that, my senses reeling, I had to withdraw from the sight of others. So I returned to the loneliness of my room and began to think about this gracious person. Dante (La Vita Nuova III) Dante first met Beatrice when he was nine and she was a year younger…he was entranced with her, but they did not meet again until nine years later..he went home and wrote what is considered to be one of the worlds greatest romantic poems, “La Vita Nuova”... many painters have recorded their meeting on the bridge…however there is only one (presumed) portrait of her…I discovered it after I painted this and there is no resemblance.. / Dante thought her angelic…I hope you think the same of my Beatrice...
