  • The photographer won! lmao. Anyone who’s ever attempted to shoot a Stellar knows how difficult a shot this is. They are quick and tricky. The patience and perseverance paid off in this shot :) I am going to be sharpening this one up a bit.

  • Truro was not only a ‘stannary’ town, however; it was an important river port with the advantage of being well away from the sea and thus well away from marauding invaders. Much tin and copper was shipped from its quays although it did suffer from periodic trade recession – one followed the Black Death which caused a huge exodus of local people and reduced Truro to a very neglected state.

  • Coinage Hall stands in the centre of Boscawen Street in Truro. It’s an imposing Victorian building. It was built when Truro was chosen as a Stannary Town where smelted tin was assayed and then exported. The assayer was based at Coinage Hall.
