I finally got to paint this from my digital manipulation, Don’t Give Up Searching . I’m so pleased with the result. I used a few different textures and oil paint and made the eye brown rather then blue so that the image was unified in pallet to suit a college project so that I could paint this particular piece without abandoning duty. / UPDATE- / In 2008 this painting was STOLEN. / It was being displayed in Bentley Pines Restaurant with a group of other art from fellow students. toward the end of the year the restaurant went though refurbishments and stored the works in a disabled toilets :/ we were asked to collect the work but this painting had already gone before it could be collected. Ive contacted all the people in charge and been forwarded around like a telstra customer on hold and still haven’t gotten it back. :(

/ I wouldn’t like to feed the photographers for which this photo is the plain and simple truth. Another instalment in my Nostalgia series although a little different then usual in the set-up. It’s a lot simpler a composition then most of my work, but let me assure you, it was so much harder to get right! Shot with my relatively new Pentax K10D and a very old Pentax-A 1:1.7 50mm objective. You can read all about the technique used in this tutorial more work / the calendar / preview / “Forgotten” was sold as a Medium mounted print to an anonymous buyer. Yes, I did actually manage to read all 4 massive books in the ‘Twilight’ series while my computer was ‘sick’. So – for a bit of ‘light relief’ – my take on the traditional ‘vampire’. I know this one doesn’t actually ‘match’ any of the wonderful vampire characters in ‘Twilight’ (by Stephanie Meyer) – the only vampire there with flaming red hair definitely comes across as a ‘bad guy’ – not one willing or able to join the good, ‘vegetarian vampire coven’ that the story is based around. / But – I just couldn’t see myself creating an image of something with fangs and a lot of fake blood – so bright red hair has to substitute. A ‘vampire’ maybe not willing or able to clearly show him or herself as she is to the outside non-supernatural world? A composite image created from many of my own photographs.
