This image is from a series titled Urban Simplicity. I wanted to highlight the beauty in simple everyday tasks and chores. In this case it is a Laundromat where I did my washing. Sometimes we go about our daily activities without ever taking the time to stop and appreciate the small things. Beauty can be found anywhere to the patient and present observer.

I finally got to paint this from my digital manipulation, Don’t Give Up Searching . I’m so pleased with the result. I used a few different textures and oil paint and made the eye brown rather then blue so that the image was unified in pallet to suit a college project so that I could paint this particular piece without abandoning duty. / UPDATE- / In 2008 this painting was STOLEN. / It was being displayed in Bentley Pines Restaurant with a group of other art from fellow students. toward the end of the year the restaurant went though refurbishments and stored the works in a disabled toilets :/ we were asked to collect the work but this painting had already gone before it could be collected. Ive contacted all the people in charge and been forwarded around like a telstra customer on hold and still haven’t gotten it back. :(
Old kettles in a kitchen, Natural light.
I really like painting glas. It´s a challenge with all small reflections so importent to give it life. / Pencildrawing on paper.
The name “Tierp” is from the Swedish manufacturer of the small lid. The fact that a small aircraft is flying by in this very moment is just a coincidence : ) Pencildrawing
also available as a tshirt it’s a disaster waiting to happen
Me and the family went camping over the long weekend with friends and came upon this deep woods lifesaver lol!!!!! These old outhouses make such wonderful and moody subjects that I just couldn’t pass this one up… to photograph… NOT USE! lol / / Another of these relics / / / / Visit my website On The Rock Photography
This is a compilation of two drawings. It comes from a comment of my friend that my eyes are especially good at finding butterflies everywhere. If I was courageous (or stupid, I am not sure which) I might have my eyes tattooed to look like this. Both drawings done with gold gel pen in white paged sketch book (110gsm Cartridge paper – acid free). / The gel pens work well in sketch books. I love the gold as it has the appearance of being a bit magical. I love butterflies and consider them wonderous wings and a symbol of new beginings and ongoing hope.
Caladenia tentaculata (Syn. Arachnorchis tentaculata) taken on Mount Barker Summit in the Adelaide Hills 23-10-08. I love the the shape of this orchid as it is nearing the end of it’s life & the labellum flips forward. Also love the fine little spider webs, that can just be seen…a spider orchid seems an appropriate place to find spider webs :) King Spider Orchid – Other common name – Eastern mantis orchid. Botanical Name Caladenia tentaculata (Syn. Anachnorchis tentaculata), and previously mis-identified as Caladenia dilatata. Suffering for my art Not long after taking this photograph, I was kneeling down to capture a back-lit subject & was so engrossed that I failed to realise that I was kneeling in a bull-ant nest! I screamed like a girl & ran back to the path, where I carefully put my camera down, then jumped up & down like a maniac frantically swatting them all off me…..
Clear glass babyfood jars, visible through a hole in the wall of an old shed. My grandfather used them to store nuts and bolts. They have been there since the 1950’s. Best on Full Size “B” is for Bear Another image from our most recent adventures with Fuzzy Wuzzy. This one gives a good idea of his size … Dear Hubby estimates Fuzz is about at 300 lbs. Fuzzy Wuzzy is about to dip his huge paws into the dumpster and grab a bite to eat. And make a mess. Yes, we were safely in the car. Put the lid back down, folks!!! Image taken at the parking lot of the condos at Blue Knob Resort at dusk on June 12, 2009 with the Nikon D40x and the 18-200mm vr Nikon lens. Shutter was at 1/50, aperture f.56, exp 0.00, and iso 800. Post Processing included Photomatix hdr from a single, shakily hand-held image, duplicated in Photoshop to an eval of +/- 2, then back to Photoshop for minor tweaks (including cleaning the food off his face).

“Vision matters,” he wrote. / “Vision is everything.” But he wrote the words to a man who couldn’t see. “Listening is everything,” he said. / “Listening matters.” But he said the words to a man who couldn’t hear. “Love is everything,” he sang to me. / “Love matters.” But he sang the words to a heart that couldn’t feel. He had a message but he never delivered it well. / He didn’t think it through. / Clarity was never his strength; his world was fuzzy-love / and baby bunnies and happy singing snowflakes because of it. Does clarity really matter? / Is clarity really everything? Don’t ask him. / He’ll look at you with his many eyes of hope and compassion / And your resolve will melt before you know his answer. Please take a second and look at the larger view…Many layers of photoimages (all my eyes, except for the little face, which is a statue) and paintings (Photoshop Elements 3). A bit of detail: / /
