This is the second in a series. / The other image is likin’ the lichen This poem fits them both: a mini / macro / surprising landscape / sitting so quietly / and innocently by unseen and noticed / by human attention / unseeing eyes / and tourists passing by until / one from down under / looked up and over / and camera pointed / uncovered the secret of a wonderful / mystery / unseen beauty / mysterious / magical / a delight to the eye Both were taken in the beautifully maintained and cared for garden next to the stavkyrkje [stave church] in Ringebu. Hidden away, I was fortunate to find it.

After much looking …this is the closest image I can find with anything that resembles a face!!!! Now…with alot of imagination…can you see the outline of a side-on view of a face!!! Right side?? LOL..

A beautiful lichen covered bench in the Blue Mountains, west of Sydney.

These lichens are about 1/4 inch high. Found on barren ground in Shedd Park, Lowell, Massachusetts, USA, July 25, 2007. They are always there, every summer, year after year. I don’t have a clue what they are. Any ideas?

Around Cradle Mountain mosses and lichens grow on almost every tree or rock, it is a marvellous place to see them.

Autumn sun filtered in / My roof of leaves are gone / They now adorn my floor and make music / Crunching and blowing as you walk along. You stepped over me everyday on your fungi hunt / Today the sun shone over me, stopped you mid step, / My heart for you now stands out, don’t cry, take a breath! / Moss, lichen and leaves,encircle my heart that was your summers path. The rocks at Fort Phoenix are shot through with either rose quartz or marble. People must’ve thought I was nuts, taking dozens of photos of a rock...

The mortar between the stones harbours an outside chance. A rewarding depth of field idea, this shot is untouched and as shot. The focus field is at the lens’ closest distance of 0.45m, wide open of course. I was delighted that the field of focus equaled the width of the crack, and so highlights the contents ..
