  • So Far Away
    by WayoftheWarrior

    US$3.99–US$91.20

I sit here and look out over this world. Disturbed I am by what I see. I had a dream once. A dream where all creatures got along, where respect and honor was strong. Where helping the weaker and less fortunate was not a favor but an Honor. Where one could speak his language with no fear of ridicule. Where one did not have to put on a mask or costume to fit in.I sit here and feel I am so far away and drifitng each day. There is anger in me that I have tried to keep in but everyday when I come up here and look out there it is rekindled. I see the ones searching and wanting to let go but out of fear they stay chained in their own prison. Not fear of failure, but out of fear of what the mass may think of them. I see the ones that want to fight but are not willing to join the fight because if the battle is lost, what will happen to them then. Time is being wasted like it will always be there, but it is slowly going by. Soon the gift of time will be the burden of wasted years. I may come back up here again, but right now I really do not want to. I think my anger is calling for me to take flight and keep searching for them, I feel so far away.

    by Andy Mueller IPA

    US$4.49–US$102.60

Capt. John Davis and Bombardier Lt. Carl Thompson are walking passed their bird to meet the rest of the boys for a few beers. Both can faintly hear music and laughter of men spilling from a tent near the end of the runway. Davis looks back into the setting sun, listens to the big radial engines still ticking from an earlier test flight. The distinct smell of burnt oil still lingers in the air. / “God I love that smell” he thinks to himself. / He gazes down upon the puddles of oil underneath the port and starboard engines. / “Hey, does it look like engine one is leaking more than usual?” John asks, turning to Carl who had his half smoked cigarette in the corner of his mouth. / “It’s been leaking more since Frankfurt”, Carl replies. / “Frankfurt? Yeah, I think you’re right”. Davis can still hear the screams of the waistgunner, when the shrapnel tore through the entire port side. / “Poor Sammy, he never had a chance”, Davis says. / Carl didn’t reply, just walked quietly next to John, the setting sun throwing long shadows onto the tarmac, making them both look like giants. / Both men knew that tonight they indeed feel larger than life, because there is no mission tonight. • All Dressed Up
    by joan warburton

    US$4.16–US$95.00

Original Photo © jwarburton 07. Post work in PSP. Someone mentioned on another site that she remembers being asked a test question in grammar school, “does the Statue Of Liberty really have sandals on her feet?” Yes, she has sandals on her feet, she’s moving forward with one foot lifted. She has the mark of the early Romans (toes) still visible in many people today – second toe is longer than big toe and little toe is “hammered”. :) “Is the Statue of Liberty in New York or New Jersey?” The statue is part of New York Harbor and sits in Liberty State Park which is in Jersey City, New Jersey. The statue is actually in New Jersey. New York Harbor includes the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, the first stop for all immigrants (1892 – 1954) who arrived in New York by boat. • Yep, says it all, especially in this day and age. It seems our rights and liberties are under attack….many photographers these days face stiff questioning from authorities whom have actually no right to do so, in asking us what it is we are photographing, for whom, and why we are. We are stopped, looked at, observed, harassed, detained, questioned, arrested, cited for laws which don’t exist, when all we want to do is capture something we see beautiful. All because many of us are thought to be terrorists….now you can show em exactly what ya think with this shirt!

It was a lousy day. Cold and wet, and I didn’t get any sleep last night because of all the fire alarms. Why did it have to rain on my only day in NYC. Did I mention the smog? – Flat green and urcky; the very colour of 2 week old pea & ham soup that has been left out in the sun. The light was dull and lifeless. To make matters worse I am on the top deck of the Ferry and its rocking back and forth, back and forth, I really wanna sit down now, but its my only chance to see THE statue. Damn, why wont the Ferry get closer? Now I have to change to my long lens while its raining and there is salty sea-spray in the air. Crank the polariser and turn on image stabilisation. 3, 2, 1 fire…. shooting in multiframe I run off about 200 boring colourless frames of crap. Maybe I can get something out of them in post-production. When you have lemons, you really should make lemonade! This is my lemonade. I hope you enjoy it!
