  • Despite it’s many years of use, this contraption still stands out in the field, its paint matching nothing in its organic surroundings. Also interesting is the farmers-ingenuity for a chute handle, a simple hand-lever that a farm-hand walking alongside can operate to open and close the seeder. • Side of abandoned train covered in grafitti on Terminal Island, Long Beach, Ca.

  • Dawn at Wye River, Victoria, Australia … on the Great Ocean Road.

  • Out of the bouquet of a beautiful bride … cast into the foreverness of the ocean of love.

  • Wye River … just off the Great Ocean Road, Victoria, Australia

  • Just off the Great Ocean Road at Wye River, Victoria, Australia

  • Another gorgeous sunrise at the Wye River, just off the Great Ocean Road, Victoria Australia. Still mucking around with HDR, but I’m starting to lose interest. This image was created with about 9 exposures or something silly like that which took ages to generate and then I crammed all the contrast back in that HDR took out with layers and blending and whatnot … sorta a bit of a long way around to get there …

  • When cars where still cars ….. not just a mere mode of transport. HDR image of this Plymouth Cockpit. Love the little levers for Throttle and HeadLight. My art with 1000+ views

  • A close view of a steam locomotive cab with engine driver controls on the footplate

  • Chaque matin le lever de soleil est différent sur la Rance, mais ce jour-là, c’était fantastique ! / Pas un souffle de vent et des couleurs éblouissantes. / Cette photo comporte 6 images que j’ai assemblé avec Autopanopro.

  • 1500-foot high Levers Water reservoir is hugged by the steep sided fells of Little and Great How, Raven Tor, and High Fell. Copper workings, operational from the 17th to the 20th century but now closed, were situated close to the waters. Levers Water was a sink for sulphur in the 1970’s. / A climb to Levers Water begins by Coniston’s Black Bull pub and heads into Coppermine Valley. After reaching the reservoir it continues to the summit of the Old Man of Coniston. Featured in The Beauty of European Waters group MAY 2009.

  • Powerplants stripped from dozers and excavators piled up at RAF Folkingham, awaiting repair or more likely disembowelment for spare parts. Hunkered down from the bleak wind, and shielding the lens from rain with my glove, I had a feeling it would all be worth while. Without blowing my own trumpet too much, I think this’d look great on a µ-Ziq CD cover…

  • I found a disused railway signal box in my travels.

  • exploring a planet with volcanoes and big rough waves whilst inside a comfy, safe, planet-roving vehicle. detail:

  • For such a huge beast I wanted to make a special effort, so for this shot I employed infrared which was bracketed and tonemapped, then carefully resharpened, followed by about 1 hour of burning every little bolt & detail to convey the weight and ‘purpose’ of the original machine, and for finishing touches a delicate sepia tone…

  • Taken with a Canon 50D, Sigma 10-20 lens at 12mm, F11, shutter speed 1/50 second, ISO200, tweaked in Photoshop We went for a walk up the Old Man of Coniston today, the route took us past Levers water, up to Swirl How (802 metres) then on to the Old Man of Coniston (803 metres), then on to Dow Crag (778 metres). It was a wonderful walk with stunning views, we even stopped for a pint of Coniston Bluebird Bitter just before the torrential downpour started. I will try and catch up with peoples shots over the next couple of days. Please view large!

  • The Cockpit of the beautifully restored and still airworthy B-17G called “Liberty Belle”. What a treat to have finally been able to see the entire interior of this plane. It is amazing how deceivingly small and cramped it is. I cannot even imagine to fly in one with FLAK going off all around and fighter planes trying to shoot you down, with no climate control system whatsoever. A couple of veterans that flew on B-17’s in WWII were at the airport, got to sign the Pilot’s Logbook and shared some of their harrowing stories, including having to endure temperatures at -30F. Amazing, simply amazing. At first I found the 2 pairs of gloves on the “dash” a little distracting, but I really like them there now. Best viewed in Large. / / This is an HDR image created from a sigle RAW file using ReDynaMix. Image was further post-processed in CS3. Taken with Nikon D300 and Tokina 12-24mm lens.

  • ..testing the new upload system. I questioned my choice of abstract composition when the first comment was that it looks more like a lever arch file… Pyrmont Point, Sydney. Canon 50D.
