  • This big bumblebee appeared to be inebriated as it rested in the rope-like petals of this flower. The wind was brisk and the air was chilly, so maybe it was just conserving energy until the temperatures rose. Whatever the case, it was quite easy to photograph the big fellow, given his lethargic state.

  • Some times you just need to rest.

  • Ink Rain emerged from doodles in the margins used as an aid to concentration in my mid school years. I have since developed my Ink Rain style into a unique and exciting art form. This style is based on the balance between small shapes and the corresponding white space. The style also uses smaller figures as shapes themselves to form part of the larger figure. The balance and contrast between the positive and negative spaces can be played with to form interesting patterns. The careful creation of the smaller shapes and their relation to one another gives the image a unique feel.

  • I don’t know how long I’ve had this idea and not done anything with it.

  • Featured in ! * Irish Eyes * ! – October 2009 / Featured in JPG Cast-Offs – October 2009 This is the upper “bedroom”, or attic, of our chalet at The Mouses House in Springbrook National Park – Gold Coast. I liked the scene with the low light, though now I’m wishing I composed this as a front on view as I’ve cropped out some chairs in the foreground facing the bed that I felt didn’t work in the original. Shot on the 4th of October 2009 with a Canon 450d and a 10-22 usm wide angle. Shutter: 6 seconds / Aperture: f/16 / ISO: 800 – for some reason.. must’ve forgotten to change it My Images Do NOT Belong To The Public Domain. All images are copyright © Jason Asher.
