I finally bought a simple macro lens for my new camera and this is my first official macro shot I’m adding. This is actually tiny (about 3-4cm or just over 1 inch) dried up piece of twisted grape vine I picked off the fence with a water drop which was reflected by the sun. It’s definitely different to my usual work but why not?! It reminds me of a lantern..

Soft pastel on Kitty Wallis sanded paper. From “The White Album” series, based on Beatles tunes and a theme of coming of age. My eldest son is the model. He always had that “mop top” look and I couldn’t resist painting him in his Let It Be t. I also think he has an almost saintly glow in this work, appropriate to the tune.

I sort of lost a day yesterday, I think because it was cold and gloomy and I didn’t wan to do much of anything. And then this morning I thought ; what a waste that was!
