  • Taken in the tiny town of Whitecliffs, NSW. This town is the location of the largest open cut opal mine in the country. There are holes all over the country side, not the place to be walking around without looking! Not to mention the locals are not keen on unwelcome visitors! / The man who wrote this sign showed us around his claim! Originally from Holland, ‘Patch’ was a wonderful guide for the students and me, he was a character full of stories of the area. / Anyway it was a sign that caught my eye!

  • Jeffery Smart is a fantastic AUSTRALIAN Artist. His work often displays the things found in the everyday, roads, buildings, containers. / This is a collection of Aviation Gas Drums lined up and stacked up, along the side of a shed in Whitecliffs. / The time was just after sunrise, a bit cool but great light up at the top of the dug out hotel we were staying at. I found some great objects, old cars, broken glass, rocks and of course the sunrise over the landscape of outback Australia. / / / Over 1000 views!!! Thanks everyone for the wonderful comments! /

  • One of the old rusty disused pipes along the Murray River in Mildura.

  • My son is learning to drive, so we were driving all the way through the centre of Melbourne from North to South. While sitting in traffic in Flinders Street, I looked up! I was using my new camera and had it at the ready! / Hope you like the shot! More windows! /

  • This is a close up shot of a sculpture outside St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Melbourne. I am unsure of the title of this sculpture, I will need to return and note it done. I was with a large group of student and just had a little time to take a few shots! The sculpture is of a Nun in Habit holding the Crown of Thorns above her head. St Catherine of Siena.(Thanks Judi C. for this imformation) / Thank you to the moderators of the wonderful group Live, Love and Dream for adding my image ‘Crown’ to its FEATURES collection on it’s first day of posting-Oct.31st. 2008. • Please View Large Another image from our day out with Richard, Jason & Donna, this was shot as the sun was slowly lowering itself casting a wonderful glow over the swollen River Ouse. Nikon D200 (L) / Sigma 18-200mm

  • Please View Large Further onto into the day Richard had at this point showed us around the best bits of York but kinda left York Abbey until the light was at it’s best. I liked the way the street lamp was set in the foreground showing the modern with the old. Featured in – A View Somewhere – 28th November 2009 Nikon D300 (S) / Sigma 24-70mm

  • Please View Large On our wonderful day out to York with Richard, Jason & Donna we were up and down all the old alleys in the city when I saw this old bicycle propped up against a bollard.
