  • One of the local inhabitants at Leptis Magna in Libya. This one was quite the model, and was very happy to show off her piercing! / A funny story behind the scenes for this image. I was knealing down framing shots (and oblivious to anything else), when i heard my local driver call out to me from afar “Craig, look out”! Just as i heard that, i turned and there was a big bull camel about 5 feet behind me! He snorted and i nearly fell over ;-0. I backed away slowly from him and his girlfriends (much to the delight of my driver). / . /

  • A rocky beach located near Leptis Magna in Libya. /

  • As I walked amongst the ruins of Leptis Magna, I kept thinking how amazing it must have been to see it in all its glory! And I wondered if the people of the time took this amazing place for granted as is often the case nowdays with all the wonderful things that nature (and human) has to offer? /

  • Another view of the ancient theatre at the ruins of eptis Magna. Although this has not been restored as much as the Theatre at Sabratha it still is magnificent! I thought I would try an old feel to this one! I hope i have done it justice? /

  • Looking down across the theatre stage from the seats where many a Roman would have been cheering and laughing, and perhaps even crying at the performances that would have been something to witness! /

  • One of the many paved ancient streets of Leptis Magna. Imagine how rough and uncomfortable this must have been traveling along in a chariot or wagon? /

  • Beyond this doorway is a sort of bath in the shape of a cross. It was apparently used for baptisms but to me it looked rather sinister! Again, the workmanship you can see here is just amazing. The bricks would have all been cut by hand and they are so symetrical. And the intricate work around the door is just awesome. /

  • This is one of the four corners of the very impressive Arch of Septimius Severus. I found this rather interesting web page that details this man and his life. Hope you enjoy. Please Read /

  • A strange variation to the b&w image of the Chalcidicum which i posted. I think it gives it a bit more depth? /
