  • Leonardo Da Vinci was certainly a man ahead of his time. From The Last Supper, his wonderful statues and studies, his inventions and most famously The Mona Lisa are a testament of his genious. Its amazing that such a tiny painting(and heavily guarded) has left such an imprint on Society and the art world. While reading earlier the history on Da Vinci,i couldn’t help wondering if it will be remembered further into the Future…...You may notice the backdrop is similar ,with some unique additions.A flying ship(a design forerunner to the helicopter) is based on one of his designs which i tweaked for this, just for fun! / I had a lot of fun drawing this, the face keeping Mona’s serene look and most importantly the hands which i wanted to emulate and with a slight twist. She has a slight casual appearance too, note the leg up.I hope u enjoy my future take of Mona Lisa…1000 years in the making! / This is a combination of pen, pencil and Marker

  • A detailed study of Leonardo’s Madonna on the rocks. If you look , you will notice a tear coming from the virgins eye. This was just too much linceed oil on brush which welled and dripped down overnight. / But something awful had just happened in my life.

  • William A. Pannapacker, Ph.D – Associate Professor of English at Hope College wrote:- / If there is one conclusion to be drawn from the life of Leonardo, it is that procrastination reveals the things at which we are most gifted – the things we truly want to do. Procrastination is a calling away from something that we do against our desires toward something that we do for pleasure, in that joyful state of self-forgetful inspiration that we call genius. This humble painting I dedicate to Leonardo, someone I admire greatly. Utube Information on Leonardo Da Vinci Painting using oil, wax, graphite and pigments.

  • I’ve had my nose buried in the art of Da Vinci over the past couple of days, re-familiarizing myself with his mastery. / As much as I love his paintings, it’s his sketchwork that intrigues me the most…... his sketch workups for his paintings have such humanity in them, his invention sketches showing us a tiny glimpse of his genius, & those anatomy sketches giving us some insight into his constant need for knowledge…. Sadly I haven’t drawn anything for almost 5 years, but today the great Master has inspired me to pick up a pen after all this time, & I have to say it feels great! This image began life 12 years ago as a single line drawing hastily sketched as a thought came into my head. I’ve often looked at it with stirrings of interest….. / So today, with visions of Da Vinci & ancient manuscripts in my head I am drawing again . • 2008, Acrylic on Canvas, 24” x 18” Leonardo DaVinci must have been quite the character to have at a dinner party. I’m sure his conversations sparked some rather awkward moments as well, simply because his way of thinking was different than that of the general population. Hmmm… maybe a case of Aspergers Syndrome? Some would probably call him “weird”; others “genius”. Either way, he was one of the most influential people in history. And his most famous work, The Vitruvian Man, is in essence a measuring tool for the human form. Applied to sheep, it sets a standard of proportions and silliness, which is why Baaa Vinci is the painting which begins by Sheep Incognito book. I used earthy, old-world colors to give it the aged feel of antique paper. My favorite part is the the paunchy belly of this guy – quite contrary to the old fashioned, six-pack that DaVinci’s guy had. Meet the new beauty standard. I’ve been asked what the writing at the top of the painting means. Well, in true sheep manner they’ve followed the master and wrote Baaah, baaah, baaah maaah, maaah baaahbabamah, baaamaaah, in mirrored writing there…. It must be something about the hidden agenda of Sheep Incognito.

  • ©Seth F. Weaver, Sr. 09/23/09.Inspired by Marilyn Monroe, the Mona Lisa, and the work of Leonardo. I borrowed an old picture from a pal of mine, Leonardo Da Vinci. I told him I was going to upgrade it, deface it, and make it more 21st century. He told me to go ahead and he didn’t seem to be one bit worried as to what I might do to his masterpiece, since everyone involved with the original was DEAD. Don’t worry about the fact that it hangs in the Louvre, it’s just France and it may be a century before the French notice it, Leo said. When I STEAL, I STEAL from the BEST! A Compullage™ creation.

  • In the spirit of the Christmas season, I’m adding this small painted rendition after leonardo da Vinci’s Angel, in his 2nd version of “Virgin of the rocks’. size A4, oil painting on canvas
